Maryland! Solar, wind, and batteries are the lowest-cost way to generate electricity. The more we build these clean energy sources, the lower our energy costs will be.📣 Lower costs AND clean power are possible if our leaders take action. Add your name if you agree: actionnetwork.org/petitions/ad...

Hispanic Heritage Month offers a chance to do more than celebrate. Learn the history. Learn the names. Learn the movements. Learn the communities. Latino history isn't separate from American history. It is part of it.

More than 70 million Hispanic people live in the United States. The U.S. Census Bureau estimates the Hispanic population at 70.1 million, roughly one in five people in the country.

A few things worth knowing about Hispanic Heritage Month! 👇 There’s a much bigger story than culture and celebration. It’s also about identity, labor, climate justice, and belonging. A quick thread worth saving and/or sharing. 🧵

This isn't the first time Trump has suggested he's divine — it's just the first time he's done it while also tremendously unpopular. Part of holding his enablers accountable is not falling for it the second they backtrack.
Sean Feucht, a conservative Christian, sharing the photo of Trump as Jesus. He comments, "This should be deleted immediately. There's no context where this is acceptable."

Opposition targeted: There was little cross-party support during SOTU 2026. Some Democratic representatives protested that Trump’s government has killed Americans, and others (including their guests) were forcibly removed.

On the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles: More (thinly) veiled racist threats. Trump says, “We’ll do a good job there,” and he has established a task force to “ensure that Los Angeles will be ‘safe.’” We’ve already seen what authoritarians mean when they say “safe.”

Immigration & ICE: Trump doubled down on white supremacist ideology, singling out Somali immigrants in Minnesota as “pirates” and blaming them for housing shortages and inflation. There are hardly any words for this racism. Well, here’s one: Gross.

The SOTU fell broadly into three parts: economy, immigration, and foreign policy. Per usual, his speech was heavy on the word count and light on facts — very much in line with the authoritarian style of government we’re already witnessing.

Solar and wind restrictions have not been distributed fairly across the US. The Midwest, Great and Western Plains, and Southeast have seen more than other places. #Minnesota, #Indiana, and #Virginia have seen the highest increase in their "Risk of Missing Out" scores.
A map of every county in the lower 48 states; the counties are either white or shades of purple.

A legend is titled: " 'ROMO' Index by County." A color grade from pale to dark purple indicates a shift from Lowest Index Value (pale) to Highest Index Value (Purple). White indicates no index value, or no restrictions in place.

The highest concentration of purple counties, and or regions with dark people, include eastern Washington and Oregon; Southern California; New Mexico; Wyoming; Eastern Colorado, Minnesota and Iowa; Indiana and Illinois; and Georgia, Virginia, and the Carolinas, although there are some purple counties in most, but not all states.

In 2023, 797 counties across the Lower 48 states had restrictions on solar and/or wind power. In a little over two years, that number has grown to 975 counties — an increase of 22.3%
Three bar graphs comparing data from 2023 to 2026.

The first is titled "Counties with ordinances -- Wind and solar combined". It shows an increase from 797 to 975.

The second, "Counties with wind ordinances," shows an increase from 619 to 693.

The third, "Counties with solar ordinances," shows an increase from 493 to 628
