The only other one that comes close is: "there's no good new music out these days. Good music died in 19XX. I haven't listened to anything new since then since everything that comes out now is shiet"

The library is hosting our first Trading Card Game Club tonight, and I'm really hoping we get a few girls to show up I've always felt semi-uncomfortable in the TCG community since it's always been super gatekeepy against us, so I'm hoping I can create a welcoming place for everyone to play 🙏

The King In Yellow by Robert W. Chambers Look, I get that this book was foundational in the cosmic horror / strange fiction landscape. But as a collection of short stories, this thing kind of falls apart The writing style was also a slog to get through. I'll just read modern cosmic horror. 2.25/5

I legit cry at the end of Hocus Pocus 2 every year 😭

Ug, I had high hopes but was so disappointed with that one. Honestly the best adaption (outside of the OG) was the 2002 version. It was surprisingly good!

Lol, yeah no, it was very much not a happy ever after I was kind of hoping it would be a straight up haunted House book but enjoyed all the twists and turns of it Also men are the worst 😭

This was one of the first books in a long time to actually scare me...I just wish the ending was a little bit more satisfying

I'm slightly tempted to go through my ratings and change it to those quartered staring, but I'm too lazy for that 😝

Michelle the Librarian 🏳️‍🌈 @progandtea.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Hold up! Goodreads is allowing quartered star ratings now?!? #GameChanger

Good morning BlueSky I've put up a few Halloween decorations in the library, and my favourite hands down is Vlad The Glad. He keeps watch over me, even though every time he turns around all I can think of is "With Arms Wide Open" by Creed

The same purple vampire, but with his back turned and his arms outstretched

When all my friends were crushing on Disney's Robinhood, or the smog monster from FernGully, I was over in the corner crushing on the Gremlin who turned into a lady

Just finished issue 35 of Spider-Woman and we are really cooking here! Now that the writing duties are being dulled out to Chris Claremont, I feel like Jessica actually has a character and a direction I'm excited to see where we go from here! #Comics #ComicSky #Spiderwoman

A student returned Pizza Witch, a graphic novel I brought into the library. She comes up to me and says: Student: Ms (real last name redacted), this book...*whispers* has lesbians in it. Me: I know, that's why I got it for the library. Student: *long pause* ... cool I'm doing the Lord's work 🙏

All in all it was a good day. I got complimented on my outfit, students have already told me I have great taste in books with my recommendations, and! students are loving that I'm bringing in so many comics / graphic novels into the library. So take THAT self-doubt!!
