Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Indeed, home of the humble kipper. The Kipper Museum is especially pungent. 010

Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Spending a week at Budle Bay, Northumbria. Being welcomed by a Harvest Moon (sadly does not include Neil Young). 030
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 24/09/2026And 10pm BBC News still used the term "allegedly" whilst showing the film of him actually doing it and bragging about it. What am I missing here? 100
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 10/09/2026What do you expect from a Tory run council? They don't care for the likes of our type. As long as the posh have everything they need, the hoi-polloi can go to Hades in a handcart. 110
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 21/08/2026Oddly mesmerising when you see it in person. 000
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 20/08/2026Apparently, all the British government had to do to stop this pernicious and destructive dry spell, was to schedule a cricket test match at Headingley (Leeds). Here in London it's been raining for at least two minutes, with no signs of it ever abating. Oh, it's stopped. As you were. 152
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 19/08/2026Yes, in winter. It's often completely underwater. 010
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 19/08/2026Currently in Gloucestershire at the source of the Thames. Here's Mrs Whelk pointing to the precise spot where water emerges during moister times. 250
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 09/08/2026Laundry, vodka, hair-dye and good conversation...all in someone else's condo. 120
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 07/08/2026I saw this a few years after it came out. I remember it as a pleasant film that shone a dramatic light on goings-on behind the scenes at UC. It's packed with nepo children and probably now only of interest as early work for future Hollywood A-listers (and James Cordon). 020
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 27/07/2026Just finished 'Fibber In The Heat ' by Miles Jupp. The perfect summer read. Funny, poignant and charming, it's not only about cricket but the sub-continent and a young man's impetuous dreams. Highly recommended. 011
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 18/07/2026I found it completely forgettable, in fact, I can't remember anything that happened. Would have been better as a TV drama. Mrs Whelk insisted on watching the second film, I probably found something better to do. 5/10. 010
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 17/07/2026Can I be the first to say "I recognise that knife". 000
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 13/07/2026Almost forgotten about this film. We found it a pleasant way to spend a few hours. Interesting to see Rylance in a comedy, and I thought his performance was really good. However, I agree about your rating, an entertaining 6.5/10. 110
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 13/07/2026Today is Roger McGuinn's 84th birthday. Not just the voice of The Byrds, but much much more. He's also the reason I bought a Rickenbacker 12 string. 131
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 13/07/2026He's just got that face and demeanor that leads you to believe he was a nice person. Also, his name on a cast list was pretty much a guarantee of quality. 100
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 07/07/2026If these were framed they'd give @marcgooderham.bsky.social a run for his money. 100

Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 30/05/2026I'm currently watching 'For A Few Dollars More' and I've realised I've never seen it before. And yet, if you'd asked me, I would have sworn I'd seen it lots of times. 030
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 30/05/2026Switched over to this during the commercials on 'Gogglebox'. Was quite delighted at the cheesiness of it. Ended up watching much more than we thought we would. However, afterwards, spent a few hours trying to find out what happened to the lead actress (Shelly Martin) to no avail. 100
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 20/05/2026Started watching this a while ago. Another film I didn't make it to the end. Unmemorable. 010
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 15/05/2026I lasted about 20 minutes. I just couldn't take anymore Great War misery. I'm sure it's probably a good film, but there's only so much mud and gore I can take. 110
Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 14/05/2026Happy Birthday to my pal Seven Pitches. Have a great day Jo. xxx🤩 000

Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 17/04/2026It was more an observation on the last programme of the evening (although I've never been sure of Terry Scott - very handsy apparently). 110

Prof Reg Whelk @profregwhelk.bsky.social · 05/02/2026I can't take Chris Mason seriously; not just because he's a very poor journalist, but because he always looks like he's just been beaten up by the kids at school. 000
