After a similar round with HR, I once suggested we use a scheduler app like Doodle or W2M. I just got another email suggesting dates that wouldn’t work. It’s wildly inefficient for getting work done; it’s wildly efficient for running out the clock.

Whomever this is, they’ve been gone for quite a while. This is not an unusual occurrence in my building. The level of trust that students have that people are not going to nick your valuables is mind boggling to me! Jewelry, wallet, handbag, computer, whaaaatt!

Or create a new workload model that gives us objectively more work but call it a 10-15% reduction to under 95%. And, then, I suspect, claim a few years down the road that our workloads are well under 100% so there is room for staff reduction.

Yes! I did NOT want a 3d cat. But after I saw him in the middle of the road, I couldn’t leave him 💔. Sheriffs Highway Vets took him after his injury & Pawz for Thought took him in until he was ready to come home. He is obvs settling in well (but my other 2 range from lukewarm to hell no on him!).

Other lecturers in my department have always had low attendance in general—I contend b/c of lecture capture. Since I do active/experiential learning without “lecturing”, lecture capture is useless. The assessment is based on the activities. Students showed up. Not this year 🤔!

Only 30% of my students showed up for class today. 35% have never shown up this term (Week 4). This is the first time since 2022 (when I first taught this module here) that I’ve not had 90-100% attendance at every session. Trying to wrap my head around what’s going on!

Oh good, it’s gone up 0.4C since I got to the office. Guess I’m full of hot air 🤷🏼‍♀️😂. GSAs say it’s calibrated hotter than it really is (when it was 25C in summer). So does this mean it’s actually colder? 🥶
