Would there be any interest in a Minecraft mod that connect to your own Navidrome server and plays music directly through Minecraft? Been itching to code something without AI and this seems fun challenge, albeit a little above my current skill level...

Every damn time... Was wondering why Proxmox was idling at 50% (Usually 10% + 25% Folding@Home) and I saw that it was doing it's weekly backup.

2 cars with people inside looking weirded at each other. One person "My backup running at Sunday 1am", the other "Me awake at the same time"

As a middle of the pack Gen-Z I've never really thought about buying music digitally (CDs from indie bands are too expensive + Shipping), but now I've discovered Bandcamp and I'm in love... PS, what Navidrome clients are y'all using?

Silverbullet (Open source self hosted note taking software) had some banger updates. - New Local App that either connect to your server or host it on your own PC. - Local Encryption - Profiles (With passwords) - Spaces (Different note folders with access control) Actually so flipping cool!

UI of silverbullet showing the Spaces and Profiles menu

Don't know which Youtube ads I hate more... Is it the AI prison mpreg yaoi? The weirdly sexual AI furry dramas with fart humor. Or the AI shit-tycoon pro vs noob vs hacker; who gets the girlfriend ones. Genuinely watching Youtube without adblocker is impossible.

After 7 years with my Galaxy Note 10+ I think it's finally time... TO REPLACE THE CASE Other than that, the battery, not getting security updates, no Linux support, bubbled screen protector and a GPS that sometimes bugs out; the phone is holding up pretty well! (The pixel 10 is looking good)

Seems the new killer is completely broken on high ping in Dead By Daylight. Some powers are server side but I never though the aiming would not be client side. Might make the killer unplayable for me not going to lie... (Killer power is not going where I'm aiming)

An insanely well done video on gender/sexism/misogyny etc by @frostbyte4free.bsky.social As a nonbinary male (oxymoron go brrr) this video actually covers my lived experience, as well as the "problem" with men's perception on these things. www.youtube.com/watch?v=_4ub...

I need to stop looking at shiny new hardware for my homelab and actually upgrade some essential stuff. Like the probably 10 year old PSU that can blow up any day now. An extra SSD as a emergency backup. Surge protector / UPS setup. And I should start running cables to the mesh access points.

What the hell..?! Despite the "3COM Baseline Switch 2816-SFP Plus" having SFP Plus IN THE NAME!!!! It only has standard SFP gigabit speeds/ports... The hunt for SFP+ switches either silent/quiet or fan mod-able continues! :(

Not having Dead By Daylight servers in my continent and then the PLAYER BASE complains to me about it is crazy... For reference the killer hosts the server and that means survivors are at a disadvantage since killer has less ping. WHICH also means every time I play survivor it's on 150 ping too.

"-REP lag abuser

-rep i wouldnt say lag abuser out of choice i think its the location. however, regardless of the reason they do have high ping which makes for large delays and not a good match"

Fun fact: Fluxer (Discord alternative [ fluxer.app ]) can literally copy your server layout from a standard Discord template. I've already started getting the Fluxer server ready; if Discord goes through with the new changes and it affects the people in my server the switch should be easy.

My family have recently started showing some interest in self hosting some stuff. (Local LLM, email (Not self-hosted, but just a different provider), google drive, etc) I know it's probably going to end up with me playing tech support, but it does sound fun and even maybe a little useful.

Crazy how you can't disable the remote management feature of some TP-Link devices... What this means is that if your TP-Link account is compromised, the attacker can manage the TP-Link devices linked to your account (You need this to actually use the device)

Re:Disable Remote Management-Solution

@RoRaBr

Hi, welcome to the community.

Deco is advertised for its remote control capabilities over places, and currently, this feature can't be disabled at this moment.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

Twitch creators appear to be adding 'aioptedout' to their content tags to help indicate to audiences that they have toggled it off. Twitch CPO Mikey Minty was asked about an "opted in/out indicator" yesterday and said they had no plans to implement one for viewers.

Managed to snag a DELL N1548 (48 Ports Gigabit, 4 SFP+ 10Gbps Ports, good idle power and noise) for ~$60. I do not have anything that can do 10Gbe nor a server rack... It was an auction and I was the only one who actually placed a bid. Hopefully it wasn't that bad of a decision :)
