If we focus only on conflict, we overlook the billions of peaceful, everyday interactions between people of different faiths who coexist harmoniously in most countries around the world. Peaceful religious coexistence thrives in many open and democratic societies - no authoritarian measures required.

History actually offers many examples of peaceful religious coexistence. For instance, the Ottoman Empire, Moorish Spain, and modern multicultural societies like Malaysia and Indonesia have all seen diverse religions living peacefully side by side, often for centuries.
