PGA Statement on Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery Settlement:

“The settlement announced today establishes a path forward for the merger of Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery. We appreciate the time the state attorneys general spent meeting with PGA and our members to better understand the impact of consolidation on producers and the broader entertainment ecosystem.

PGA will continue advocating for a stronger future for producers and our industry, which must include measures to protect against the harms of vertical integration and consolidation, and the enactment of a stackable federal tax incentive.”

PGA's statement on the passage of AB/SB 186:

"For months, PGA has been working alongside a broad coalition of industry guilds, unions and organizations to protect the California Film and Television Jobs Program from the financial limitations imposed by SB 122. Our members sent more than 40,000 letters to make our voices heard. With the help of our members, the California Legislature passed AB/SB 186, and we're looking forward to Governor Newsom signing this legislation. The bill addresses the PGA’s concerns and specifically protects independent producers from the caps imposed by SB 122.

We want to recognize the leadership of the Entertainment Union Coalition (EUC), the Motion Picture Association (MPA), Assemblymember Rick Chavez Zbur and Senator Ben Allen, who worked on a very short timeline to make this bill happen. We're grateful for Governor Newsom’s continued commitment to maintaining the health of our industry. This fight is never over. The PGA, alongside the EUC, MPA and other industry stakeholders, will keep advocating for our future."
