It was fantastic to see the energy in the room, participants engaged with the materials in diverse and creative ways, sparking rich conversations across a wide range of topics. The depth and variety of perspectives shared really highlighted the value of collaborative thinking in this space.

The recent Home Office white paper From Local to National: A New Model for Policing (27 January 2026) highlights the importance of transparency, calling for the publication of a registry of AI tools used by police, along with evidence of how they are tested and evaluated before deployment.

AI is already shaping policing, but transparency and public communication have not kept pace with its rapid adoption. At a time when public confidence is under pressure and technology-driven crime is increasing, there is a clear need for stronger oversight and accountability.
