Guess I'll just let the top half of my body atrophy. No big whoop. I know. I know. I'm being overly dramatic, but let me be a little annoyed. It'll get it out of my system. Pilates was the gateway to me getting stronger, and it lead to me feeling safer doing other harder things.

Considered going back to Pilates reformer classes. It's the one form of exercise I really enjoyed that didn't hurt my bum wrists. When I stopped going to classes just before the pandemic, classes were $30, less if you bought a 10-pack. Now classes are $45 each. FORTY FIVE YOO ESS DOLLARS EACH!

I had dismissed it as too expensive, but then I got sucked into their social media and decided we had to find a way to make it work!

It was! One of the best parts of the trip. Just pulled up the bank statement. I recall that we ordered REALLY carefully, and it was just under $200. No desserts, and we shared one app. One cocktail each. It’s pricey, but it was worth the Sainsbury microwave lasagna we ate during some other dinners!

Here’s my view from that counter seat. A student who worked in the College of Design happened to have a brother who was working at Fallow, and he learned my husband was going to be in London, and he recommended we go. It was our bug splurge meal, and it was so worth it.

And yes, the potatoes were insane. The way they get them super crunchy and textured is next level. We got to seat at the counter that looks into the kitchen.

Sure. I feel like it make sense at the beach, but there’s this new “neighborhood” that plopped down near me a few years ago, and people who have actual cars seem to use their golf carts to drive short distances instead of their cars. But why?!

Jack White is a god damned rock start. I'd seen White Stripes and Raconteurs but never his solo shows. Man is such a fine musician and showman. He has so much fun. He loves his job. Perfect guy to close out the festival.

Angine de Poitrine has been in my ears constantly for the last several months. They were as weird and wonderful and precise as a band gets. Lots of the kids were dressed like them - polka dot city. But I'm not sure that many people had been listening to them like I had been. I was in heaven.

I have been wanting to see LCD for years, and god damn, it was so great – exactly the energy and power I was hoping for. People talk about how innovative James Murphy is, but his voice is truly exceptional. The whole crowd of them has such perfect synergy. One of the best sets I've ever seen.

I'm a massive Geese fan, but they seemed cranky last night. I've seen them b4, and this wasn't nearly as good. Cameron's voice sounded great, they all played well, but it seemed like they were playing way too fast through songs they knew the crowd were waiting for. Are they bored of their own stuff?

Went to the Iron Blossom Festival in Richmond this weekend. Saw Phantogram, LCD Soundsystem, Geese, Angine de Poitrine, and Jack White. Really exceptional lineup. Mini reviews coming up.
