I can watch the matches just fine, but to me, without commentary moving a story along, it’s just a singular match in a vortex by itself. If that makes any sense? I can watch the 1/20/97 Kobashi/Misawa match and love it. But the story beats and history between the two are lost on me, ya know?

Casey @prismphobia.bsky.social · 27/09/2025

It’s less about simply the calling of moves and more about the stories behind WHY they’re doing certain moves or the background of the match and why it’s important, etc. Let’s not act like commentary isn’t an art itself just because big Western companies treat it like an ad spot.

I follow some people on Twitter who do live translations but English commentary would still be ideal. Marigold does it every so often.

020

Casey @prismphobia.bsky.social · 27/09/2025

Give me English commentary too, and I’m absolutely down. I was kind of lost during the post-match stuff for Saya/AZM so having someone be able to tell me what was happening would’ve been great. I know it’s one guy running the service, but I wish Stardom World was better than what it is.

My birthday was yesterday, so I decided to treat myself and bought all six of the MMPR: The Movie Funko Pops, and pre-ordered the new CM Punk one. #funko #cmpunk #powerrangers #treatyoself

An American version of the All Elite Show. It’s a chat/recap show on Fox Sports Mexico. Kind of reminds me of Inside the NBA a little bit.

How long are we expecting these to stay in stock?! I don’t get paid until next week 😒

I’m not sure @gwillow.me will ever know just how much Kamala Khan means to me - a guy (now) in his mid-30s, in the Bible Belt. But this character spoke to me in ways that comics never did, not even when I was a little kid. I’m not sure I can put it into words, and I’m running out of space anyway…

Toni versus Athena and Toni versus Mercedes have never happened, shockingly enough. Toni’s only ever faced Mercedes/Sasha in house show triple threats in WWE, and versus Athena in the 2021 Rumble and a four way at Grand Slam.

iiiiit’s Wednesday, you know what that means! Another #WrestlingCardWednesday! And it was mail day today, which means I got this CM Punk 24/25 National Treasures card in. I’ve got a 43/75 coming tomorrow, too. Next up on my hunts: Flawless & Treasured Threads. #CardSky #WrestlingCards #WrestleSky

The Gladiator versus Kenta Kobashi, from 1999. Or Kawada/Taue versus Hayabusa/Shinzaki from 1997. I could watch Kawada matches all day, honestly.

In the Buro? No. I wish SUP would come back. TWE is still active around Chattanooga, but that’s like a good 2 hours away. We used to have a pretty decent indie scene. At least we still have TWE and the SCI.

Funnily enough, I’m pretty sure the lowest attended Dynamite (outside of the pandemic era) was just recently, at the Hammerstein.

000

Casey @prismphobia.bsky.social · 16/01/2025

I’m keeping an eye on this. I wish it was closer to the Buro 😭

(CA Debut) June 1st 2022 (15k) (Week+ after All Out) September 15th 2021 (12k) Blood & Guts: June 29th 2022 (11k) I believe the second episode of Dynamite had around 6k. You’re not wrong about 21/22 attendance, but ‘21 is obviously heavily skewed by the pandemic (touring started again in June)

It’s Wednesday, you what what that means! It’s #wrestlingcardwednesday! The true grail. After two weeks of delays due to winter weather, it finally came. CM Punk’s rookie card, with TNA, from 2004! #WrestlingCards #Cardsky #Wrestlesky

One of these days I’ll make the 1 1/2 drive to Nashville to see AEW 😢 I always say I will when it’s announced, then never done cuz I hate driving that far lmao

000

Casey @prismphobia.bsky.social · 15/01/2025

I thought about it, but seeing as how I’m only into WWE cards for Punk stuff it seemed like a gamble. Already got the saved search on eBay, tho ;)

120

Casey @prismphobia.bsky.social · 13/01/2025

So none of them are available to be converted to physical cards like Upper Deck? Damn… I guess it’ll be a fun little collection type thing to do, but that’s a little disappointing.

110

Casey @prismphobia.bsky.social · 13/01/2025

So, what is this exactly? Kinda like Upper Deck’s ePacks? Are the cards on the app free or what? I’ve never dealt with WWE Slam when it was a thing.

210

Casey @prismphobia.bsky.social · 13/01/2025

👍🏻 only because of the Outrunners, though.

010

Casey @prismphobia.bsky.social · 03/01/2025

Whoa! They’re working on boxes specifically for autos. That’s gonna be crazy expensive I bet but might be worth it 👀

220

Casey @prismphobia.bsky.social · 03/01/2025

I might’ve paid very slightly over what the market value/average price is for an ungraded rookie of his, but whatever it’s worth it to me! I’m getting ready to buy a wall mounted case to display all my Punk cards - centerpiece acquired!

020

Casey @prismphobia.bsky.social · 03/01/2025

Yeah the website now says early February so here’s hoping. I remember when it used to say November, lol. Can’t rush quality, though!

Just obtained my other grail wrestling card, after getting a Punk auto last year. CM Punk’s card from the 2004 Pacific TNA set. His rookie card. This is one I’m for sure sending off to be graded and slabbed when it arrives. #WrestlingCards #Cardsky #Wrestlesky

Those were my favorite Joshi pulls from the ‘97 Sparkling Fighters box. Next week I’ll do my favorites from New Japan, Michinoku Pro, Pancrase, BattlArts, etc. Hashimoto or Muto cards might be my favorites from all of those. Or a young Minoru Suzuki.
