Happy Pride Month If you’re into allying up for a gay, ND, self published author (who was an orphan at 15 if that helps sell the book, though it is also true) then my book is on sale for 99p worldwide on amazon amzn.eu/d/05FnYVar

I see a lot of people writing queers into romantasy/medieval stories but without homophobia & thus, feel there’s no need to have words for gay & lesbian (despite them being useful terms even if everyone was actually open) Today I created a new word for my romantasy world for gay, lesbian & 2 slurs

Another chapter done. Just over 2k. Most of the other chapters have been between 1.3-1.7k which I felt wasn’t a lot, but this is outlined to be 65 chapters so I think the word count is actually fine. Got my MC into his first parallel universe. Very exciting

5 chapters of my MM SFF novel done this week. Roughly 7k. I only started it on Thursday. Very excited about this one. Whilst querying my second book, I spotted MANY agents looking for epic romantic fantasy (not romantasy) so let’s hope they still are by the time it’s finished

Pride Reads Drew @pridereads.bsky.social · 04/02/2026

Last year I self published my debut novel. Right now I am querying novel 2 whilst finishing the first draft of novel 3 and gently plotting novel 4. Ugh I’m tired

Why would any show (looking at you Loot) create an in-show advert with a website and NOT get the website? For my novel I created a whole tiktok account just to tie in

2 agent noes came through today. Along with 2 deadlines hit, with silence. Along with my other No, that leaves 6 agents left to hear from. Will my duel timeline, queer crime mystery find an agent in this batch? God I cannot put myself through self publishing again

Haha. He must have. Some of those leaps took weeks. Maybe between leaps, he got to sleep in the ether

Everything being pistachio flavour really is the last fucking straw to this timeline tbh

“TikTok is just stupid videos that will rot your brain” Oh really? Well maybe after reading about the state of the world, and everyone’s opinion on it, on Twitter and Bluesky every day, maybe I need stupid videos to soothe my anxiety! Ever thought of that you daft twunt?

Pride Reads Drew @pridereads.bsky.social · 13/09/2025

Why anyone looks up to any celeb at this point is beyond me. You just don’t know when they’re gonna fail you. This is why I don’t do parasocial

010

Pride Reads Drew @pridereads.bsky.social · 13/09/2025

When I watched it I immediately thought of you.

110

Pride Reads Drew @pridereads.bsky.social · 13/09/2025

I think The Paper is ok but the reality of the camera crew does not hold up at all. Why do they have multiple shots but are not in the background of any shot? It’s “real life” they’re not doing the scene twice. Where were they in the car scene? Nothing makes sense

010

Pride Reads Drew @pridereads.bsky.social · 07/09/2025

My issue with shows that are fake documentaries, is they have multiple camera positions but clearly only 1 single camera for the in-show crew. We never see the other camera and if it is only 1 camera, why are they doing multiple takes when it’s real life? This can’t just be me?

020

Pride Reads Drew @pridereads.bsky.social · 04/09/2025

Ok. That’s my first wave of 11 agents submitted to. All agents I’d love to sign with including one in particularly who I may have gushed too much to in my query letter. Ooops.

030

Pride Reads Drew @pridereads.bsky.social · 03/09/2025

I will never understand dog (and cat) owners who lose their aged pet and get a new dog or cat within weeks.

020

Pride Reads Drew @pridereads.bsky.social · 03/09/2025

Awww. I’ve not seen Leonard for years. Literally years when he was always on twittter.

010

Pride Reads Drew @pridereads.bsky.social · 01/09/2025

Okay, wish me luck! Here I go again. Back in the agent query trenches. I forgot how long this takes. Every single agent wants a different file format, file title, different things for the query letter. And if you don’t get these little things right, they’re not even gonna read my chapters.

Pride Reads Drew @pridereads.bsky.social · 20/08/2025

Writing a pitch for a novel is not the easiest thing, but needs must and it’s almost query time. I’m actually pretty happy with it, and it wasn’t as hard as last time.

030

Pride Reads Drew @pridereads.bsky.social · 17/08/2025

Oooh I can’t wait now. Because I think there’s been loads of amazing episodes so if you’re all saying this is particularly good, then…

Just got to the ep where enterprise gets sent back in time and they tell the current crew. They really did make it even more nohomo with pairing everyone up to opposite genders.

110

Pride Reads Drew @pridereads.bsky.social · 14/08/2025

@ryanthomasriddle.com tell me these two finally get together or at least shag it out of their system?! Haha I know the answer is NOHOMO but you thought it too, right? Not just me 😂

To soothe my soul, and perhaps my adhd, I have ordered a large amount of American and Mexican sodas to enjoy this week, including Mexican Coke, real sugar Dr Pepper, orange cream Coke and Barq’s cream soda and red too (amongst many others)

050

Pride Reads Drew @pridereads.bsky.social · 31/07/2025

I bloody love Strange New Worlds. The core of every single tv show ever made, is that it should be entertaining. And SNW does not fail to entertain. Every week. I hope they manage to sneak in another musical episode before the series finale.

Enjoy the bees on my oregano I let it flower every year for them. There was easily 100 bees on this, this morning. I always wonder where they go, off making oregano flower honey somewhere.

I love this phase of writing a novel. Playing with ideas to see what could happen and where it could go How people do that whilst pantsing the writing I don’t know. Feels wasteful to me I’d rather play before outlining and then know exactly what I’m writing

Pride Reads Drew @pridereads.bsky.social · 09/07/2025

I think these are long-tailed tits which I’ve never seen in my garden before I’ve seen plenty of other tits (blue, great, coal and maybe a willow), so it was nice to see a pair of tits I’ve not seen before

Yep I’m totally on board with this. I mean making my already very queer stuff even queerer is going to be a challenge but I’m up for it

130

Pride Reads Drew @pridereads.bsky.social · 07/07/2025

I came up with a rough concept for novel 3 today. It wasn’t what I originally thought it was gonna be, but this idea just sort of felt right and current Yes it’s queer Yes it’s crime/mystery It might even be thriller It still needs some playing with until it’s solid
