RDP really sucks at audio and playing games ;w; if you have the energy I would highly recommend setting up a sunshine/moonlight server if possible :3 Its saves me from going insane when im bed ridden uwu

im not entirely sure but it might be a syntax issue, i would try the default mounting options (for example: /dev/sda3 /run/media/examplehdd ext4 defaults, nofail 0 0) i would also try if the system is bootable and/or you can find your drives info i would try switching them from /dev/sda to uuid's

Anyway- i recommend CachyOS or EndeavorOS, i use both for every machine i have, it has been stable (even when i dont update for 6 months on 10+ year old laptops) these are "tinker" distros... but i dont tinker with my OS, i just want it to leave me alone and i've been perfectly happy with them :3

Even tho arch is "rolling release" and it means software will just about update whenever it gets a new stable release. it does not mean you have to update all the time (i wouldn't) if you looking for stability i would update every 4 weeks, the longest i personally think is okay is about 3 months

Depending on your computers configuration any linux distro is going to be a battle (e.g. nvidia) all distros have quirks and issues unless and the system is unusable i would just stick with the pain until you can figure things out (the arch wiki is a great resource, even if you arent using Arch)

the reason i recommend Arch-based to those who want to learn linux and then leave it alone is because there is NOTHING in the way to stop you to correct an issue. Arch is made for you to make changes (not that you have too, Distros like Cachy and Endeavor do all the hard work for you these days)-

from my personal experience arch works the "best" when you get over the knowledge cliff of linux, it works "best" out of the box if you pick a distro like Endeavor or Cachy. but no linux distro is ever gonna be smooth sailing at first until you are comfortable with linux itself, that being said-

The ntfs-3g driver works well from my experience, I've been using a ntfs hard drive with zero issues its just fiddly to setup because you have to mess with fstab which is very scary for most (if you do end up working with fstab the "nofail" flag is helpful because it wont prevent you from booting)

Yeah it can be frustrating :( Especially if you just want to get back to your projects and use your computer without fuss. but its super worth it imo I fully switched a year ago and it took me like... a month maybe to be fully comfortable again, and only had downtime for a week or so

Mattkc's forum has a pretty decent guide for running premiere natively (forum.mattkc.com/viewtopic.ph...) Winboat runs really well in my experience but its super heavy resource wise (running a Windows VM) the slow and painful process to Linux native applications might be ideal in the long run

Linux is not windows so there quite a bit of a learning curve, however any Distro should work. (I personally use any arch flavor such as EndeavorOS or CachyOS as they really arent hard to use anymore and easy to set up) As for premiere and PS i would take a look at using wine or winboat
