Just checked out this little sound tech simulator by Audio University called the Troubleshooting Lab. UI is a little buggy, but a neat learning tool nonetheless. Check out my highscore!

Yamaha's MGX V series is cool, but i find this detail in the manual amusing. Imagine buying a 16 channel digital mixer solely for your twitch livestream

in the user manual for the Yamaha mgx12/16v digital audio mixer, a diagram of the back port gives examples of devices you would connect to the hdmi ports, one of them being a game console. it's a novel and practical idea to have a capture card built into the digital mixer, but in order to justify this purchase your stream setup ought to me more demanding of the multiple inputs that a normal gaming stream just wouldn't be. imagine a streamer having to adjust the game audio: it'd be as easy as touching the fader. As for why they'd need this absurdly large device for such simple function i couldn't tell you. hey at least it also has a sound board!

I opened google slides for the first time in half a decade to hastily draw out this for Seattle Indies Expo cuz 90% of the day i was not able to be in the stream room (nothing exploded too badly, so success?)

Stream room configuration for the 2025 Seattle Indies Expo. comprised of an xlr mic, three wireless mics, two tv monitors, remote control camera, mixer, and laptop. important but small-print notes and instructions are layed out on the left side, barely legible.

image of the actual stream room. everyone is wrapping up since the stream has reached the end. i was in here for about 5% of the stream so i was not able to catch a lot of the audio issues as they came up but the team managed well without me
