The words say “Creative Debut, Read Katherine Souza’s piece in dogyard mag!” “There’s a lump in your throat. It’s wriggling. You say you don’t know why this happens when I touch your sternum. I know there are so many writers out there who I would be a massive fan of if I could just get ahold of their work. Getting published is a hard road, so knowing that I have the opportunity to read and become a fan of writers who I might never have golten the chance to otherwise is thrilling!”

In the debut of the #boneyard, Emily McKenna gives insight to the #Keats poem “Ode to a Nightingale.” Join us as we dig through the classics and see what we can learn! #dogyard is ready for your work! We accept #poetry, #fiction, #art, #cnf, #essay, and more!

Photo with painting of a man in the woods, deep in thought. There is another photo of a girl smiling in front of plants and glasses on her head. The text says The Boneyard with a quote, "This text is a work of contrasts; the old style meets the new, nature meets his scientific background, and the efforts of the nightingale contrast with the narrator's own. As for style, writing with a Shakespearean quatrain and Petrarchan sestet creates an air of familiarity.”

I think my new goal in life is to live on a boat and write. Won’t even have to worry about food expenses. Salmon and seaweed’s all I need.
