Here is the T2D CGM summary. It is an option with modest benefits with low evidence #EASD2026 #dedoc⁰

Even with periodic use, the evidence is weak and the proposed benefits below clinical significance. Therefore it is an option but, as I see it, the cost vs benefit may be questionable when the same money could be used for interventions with more robust evidence #EASD2026 #dedoc⁰

Even when splitting T2D into insulin using populations, the benefits were marginally positive with weak evidence. #EASD2026 #dedoc⁰

#EASD2026 present their guidelines for T2D CGM. Measuring HbA1c, TBR, and Quality of Life, the evidence shows there is a very small positive effect in the general T2D population. So an option but not essential. #dedoc⁰

I saw this at #EASD2026, the Medeva Essenza. A passive cooling case with temperature sensor, GPS locator, follower capability. I like it a lot. About to be made available for sale, from what they tell me it won't be the cheapest in the market but it is an elegant option. #dedoc⁰

The giant exhibition hall at #EASD2026. This only captures a fraction of it but highlights the content more by what is missing i.e. insulin. Lots on GLP1s. The Age of T1D focus is coming to an end and the age of obesity management begins.#dedoc⁰

Setting the tone and priority of diabetes care, the Presidential Address of #EASD2026 mentions GLP-1 research. Less so about novel insulins.

Been flying and transiting for around 30 hours. I'm reasonably happy with the trace given I've been eating plane meals and snacks, and sitting on my behind for most of it.

This is a db/db mouse on the left. It has a gene mutation so it doesn't use leptin well leading to obesity and high blood sugars. They are used to study T2D. He is proof that broken dna can lead to T2D-like diseases. Obesity doesn't cause T2D. Something else causes them both.

I'm doing a task which will take a couple of hours and my pump's run out of insulin. My thought is "I can survive a few hours, I'll attend to it afterwards" It strikes me that, to a non type 1, the idea of putting off a task which stops me dying, is poor prioritisation.

(1/3) A final comment about #26ADC. One thing that truly impressed me was the integration of lived experience throughout the program. While I expect there are those who continue to question the value of lived experience at a medical conference, the value was clearly demonstrated.
