These days people are decidedly more isolated and, I think, have a higher burden of normalcy on them, then mixed with tides of militarism which go back and forth on how acceptable outward emotions are, it can go hidden for a while. In a small group you're more valuable and included by default.

Weather has one major caveat to it: sometimes it freezes; like everywhere else, it will never boil. Intuitively and practically it makes sense to consider all temperatures OK down until where it starts to freeze, which you need to account for. Makes sense to just put that at 0.
