A cat stretching. It's shaking its head quickly so that you can't see any features of its face.

I think they were just a gimmick. When I've seen them they typically aren't loaded with good tape, and couldn't even fit 60 minutes due to the space taken up by the reel. But they look really cool. And Teac made some that you could switch out the hubs like a reel to reel (those are 50 minute reels)
A Teac cassette tape with changeable reels. The reels indicate they are 50 minutes.

I think "punk" always has to be qualified. The music maps from my All Music Guide to Rock from 2002 don't even attempt a "punk" section.

A cool thing to do is go to the SPCA and adopt a one year old cat with a broken tail who is underweight and then spend the next twelve years just hanging out together

Happy holidays everyone
A grey, black and white cat leans over the side of a couch. It is looking backwards towards the camera and has its mouth open and looks incredibly happy. There are reflections of Christmas lights in the window behind her.

Temps are dropping and everything is getting fuzzier
A very fluffy gray and white cat in a sitting position on a rug. No particular expression but the photo is a little grainy and poorly litA fluffy orange cat with a very penetrating look on his face. He looks ready for winter but also irritated you haven't stoked the fire for several hours.

Look how tough Larry looks in this picture. This fully grown man will also cry a river of tears if he even suspects that one of his three meals will be served late.

The great thing about representative democracy is that there are so many options
Headline in the Portland Press Herald reads "Maine Republican Billy Bob Faulkingham teases 2026 announcement". The guy in the photo looks like a much less entertaining version of Otis, the drunk guy from the Andy Griffith Show, showcasing Otis's worst personality traits and none of his endearing ones.

You'll never guess who I saw hanging around the dumpster.
A printed sign of a seagull with its mouth open, taped on the side of the harbor masters building with blue peeling tape. A speech bubble next to the seagull says "Please take boat trash to the dumpster! Thanks!"

It's fall, or, as I like to call it, gingko season
A large gingko tree in late afternoon light. Many of the leaves are a hue of yellow that no native trees display, or yellow on the edges and green still towards the center. Its posture and presentation is upright but also weeping at the ends of the long branches. It's next to a road, with a neon crosswalk sign in front of it and a watch repair shop behind it. Whoever planted this tree did so when gingko was not widely common in North America, and the respect it has been treated with, to be given its own lot to thrive on the side of a thoroughfare is a testament to the vision and ideals of its caretakers.

A clear blue sky. Intruding from the ground is a house with a complicated roof structure, several levels. On the higher level a golden light is shining and illuminating an old satellite dish. On one of the lower levels, in shade, is a slightly newer but still defunct satellite dish.

The most surprising part of this article is that the town in question is NOT Bangor
Bangor Daily News headline that reads "Maine town is removing abandoned boat filled with used needles". The joke here being that Bangor is sketchy and a notorious drug town. The actual town is Arrowsic, which is across the river from Bath in Maine.

Harry Styles

Say hello to our resident heartthrob, Harry Styles. No, not that one, but trust us, this feline has just as much star power.

Harry is a chill, soulful guy whose hit singles in-clude "Water-meow-lon Sugar," "Feline Line" and "Adore Mew." While he may not be doing dramat ic leaps or belting ballads in his kennel, Harry has a quiet charisma that makes everyone who meets him swoon. He prefers loung-ing in his cozy bed for a nice snooze. After all, even superstars need their beau-ty sleep.

He's not the type to beg for attention, but once he's in a calm, safe environ-ment, Harry transforms Into a total cuddle bug. He's the kind of cat who will sneak into your heart with

soft purrs, slow blinks and an appreciation for a good cheek scritch. He's not very vocal he saves his songs for the truly special mo-ments but he lives for love, laps and Churu treats.

Harry might not crave the spotlight 24/7, but give him a little time and trust, and he'll shine brighter than a stadium light. He's the perfect companion for someone looking for a low-key, affectionate best friend with a star-quality snuggle game.

Are you ready to be Harry's biggest fan and give him the purrrrmanent encore he deserves? Come meet this A-meow-zing boy. He's ready to head-line your heart. Fill out an adoption application here: https://www.spcahancock-county.org/adopt.

Niche post but whatever - I can't stop laughing at this eBay listing of a "working" reel to reel where they've loaded the tape on and completely bypassed the tape heads
Pictured is a Revox A77 reel to reel tape deck from an eBay listing. The description lists it as "working". However in a completely unprecedented move, the seller has loaded the tape reels on without passing the tape over the heads. Not only does this mean it clearly won't play, more than likely the motor won't even engage to spool the tape pointlessly since most models require the tension arm to be engaged.
