ICYMI: We're finally holding our first playtest for Power of Nature this weekend. This is entirely to stress test the foundation of the game! The playtest will be hosted on our discord server. Other announcements relating to PoN will coincide with it, so prepare your unbound soul🪬

Original Platform Fighter by Tirk and Christides
The poster features a young boy doing a salute, in front of sketches of a large fish woman and a yelling old bearded man

also here's a full look at the new stage!!!! It's kind of unfinished but that's to be expected. It's a beach off on the sunny shores of Ocean Island. The shipwreck area is a frequent hangout spot for the delinquent youth of of Chulay town.

anyway basically all of last month's work on PoN was entirely restricted to engine reworks so I dont have much fancy to show yet but the engine is easier to use now and I still enjoy goofing around in it (literally all of the audio is placeholder)

still workshopping the character select to be used in the first build, plan on making it more PS2 Maximalist when I get the time/energy for it, but mainly wanted to show off the delightful CSS icons by @nov4kid.bsky.social #PowerofNature

Character select Unity canvas mockup for Power of Nature. The selected characters are Oleandra and Kai
"OLEANDRA ESTREZA
The bloodied rose of Iglesia de Nobleza
Toy with your prey with quick pokes and fast footwork
while boosting your attacks to deliver a decisive strike"

"KAI MIN-KYU
The unwitting hero of light
A well-rounded fighter with answers to all
situations, if you can fight for it."

new log on the patreon 👇 www.patreon.com/c/powerofnat... It's not terribly much, but it should provide some insight into the current state of things. To tide you over for now, here's another great piece by @nov4kid.bsky.social ft. Oleandra and Dipsy Down

A piece featuring Oleandra, a woman with poofy blue hair that covers her eyes, and Dipsy Down, a living doll dressed in a jester's outfit with green and red facepaint. The text around them reads
"OLEANDRA & DIPSYDOWN"
"Inquisitor to the church of Iglesia de Nobleza"
"Dr. Drossel's man event!"

The official Patreon page for POWER OF NATURE is now live! A fighting game inspired by the golden age of arcades and JRPGs, as well as assorted Dreamcast/PS2 weirdness. Whether you wanna support early on or just keep track, be sure not to miss it!!! www.patreon.com/c/powerofnat...

the temporary "cover art" for Power of Nature in the style of PS1 box art, featuring a boy wielding a giant paddle, a woman with blue hair holding a rapier, a giant fish woman with a polearm, and a giant man with a mechanical arm. They're suspended on top of a painted blue gradient background, and in front of them is the title "POWER OF NATURE"
