I miss that time when we collectively decided to respond to the creepy losers saying stupid things In public by laughing at them for being such weirdos and losers.

Back to that dissonant atmospheric black metal. From Germany, in June. It’s kind of like surrendering to the waves crashing against rocks. In a good way. Fyrnask.

The problem with “critique” over the last bit is not that we need to make a more “constructive” turn but that critique has devolved into a guilt by association or by use. It’s cheap critique, bc things are always linked in complex ways and open to a myriad of uses.

To repeat: DEI on college campuses and in the workplace was actually helpful in producing a generalized awareness of social oppression and encouraged the rising managerial class to sympathize with workers over bosses / company. Thats what “anti-woke” and “intellectual diversity” are about.

This is the era of exhaustion. Psychic, social, environmental. Everything and everyone feels exhausted, past their limits, stretched thin and hollowed out. It’s not all there is. But we can’t find ways forward without recognizing this defining context.
