Not quite. The Canada Health Act protects public funding/access to insured services and restricts extra-billing/user fees, but it does not prohibit private delivery of healthcare. That distinction is actually why I’m asking.

From canada govt webiste :MYTH: All health care in Canada must be publicly delivered.
FACT: “The Canada Health Act doesn't forbid the provision of health services by private companies…”

That's so hard - Big sister Liz passed last year and Luna still howls whenever she is left alone, even if I just go out for the mail etc. They were so bonded that it's very difficult when they are separated like this. Sorry for this loss.

When social media is so US American centric that the crash of a Canadian owned plane, leading to deaths on their own soil doesn't trend in the top 5. Oh, and what the hell is up with the silence over Cuba??

trending: mullin, epstein, music, airport, moana

Instead of perpetuating racist imagery meant to dehumanize and humiliate, perhaps flood sm with dignified images of strength & love. #obamas

These people too. Non-citizens being murdered deserve justice too, and marches and protests.

A Cuban migrant held in solitary confinement at an immigration detention facility in Texas died after guards held him down and he stopped breathing, according to an autopsy report released Wednesday that ruled the death a homicide.

Geraldo Lunas Campos died Jan. 3 following an altercation with guards. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) originally said the 55-year-old father of four was attempting suicide and the staff tried to save him.

But a witness told The Associated Press last week that Lunas Campos was handcuffed as at least five guards held him down and one put an arm around his neck and squeezed until he was unconscious.

At least 30 people died in ICE custody last year, the highest level in two decades, agency figures show. In the first 10 days of 2026, four immigrants, including Lunas Campos, died while in federal immigration custody.

Lunas Campos's death was the third in less than two months at Camp East Montana, a sprawling tent facility in the desert on the grounds of Fort Bliss, an army base near El Paso.

I live in a progressive country with Universal healthcare, and did believe ur congressmen and senatirs receive healthcare as part of their benefuts packages buf it seems they get better healthcare that is quite subsidized. I wish you all well.

From @altnps.bsky.social The work isn't done. Keep going - make your voice heard, follow the money. It was not about the Kimmel show, and does not end now that ABC/Disney has changed course.

If a station is owned by the Sinclair group, they won’t be airing Jimmy Kimmel. Sinclair is demanding that he issue a direct apology to the Kirk family and even make a donation to them and Turning Point USA. Lol, why on earth would he do that?

If you’d like to voice your opinion, you can call Sinclair Broadcasting Group at 410-568-1500.

Since Sinclair’s revenue comes from TV ads, the strongest way to hit their bottom line is by reaching out directly to companies whose commercials run on their stations and asking them to stop funding Sinclair. Brands that viewers have reported seeing on Sinclair include McDonald’s, Starbucks, Allstate, Disney+, Google, Verizon, Walmart, and Procter & Gamble.
