Yields on government bonds rise dramatically. Headlines include
"Reeves facing £6bn blow from rising gilt yields", "Reeves must cut taxes or risk driving the economy off a cliff' (both Telegraph); "Labour's borrowing costs surge 'worse than Liz Truss chaos'" (Mail); and "Reeves battles market sell-off as bond yields rise" (Times).

15 January: Gilt yields fall dramatically after better than expected economic news, erasing almost all increase of previous week.
Almost no headlines mention this in any of the above newspapers.

Sigh - classic fact free nonsense. ‘news’ story here totally fails to mention that Tory plans were for fines of £5k (later reduced to £3k) for each missed heat pump sale. What @Ed_Miliband has done is to reduce that to £500. Headline should read “Miliband slashes Tory boiler tax”
