I took myself to Sarah P. Duke Gardens on Saturday and saw some pretty stuff. A good respite from *waves hands* everything. #GratitudePhotos #DukeGardens #NaturePhotography #StephaniesVision #Bloomscrolling

Monarch butterfly with wings spread open as it rests on a vibrant orange Mexican sunflower surrounded by green foliage.

Bright red and orange vine leaves climb the rough bark of a pine tree, standing out against a softly blurred forest background.

Close-up of a delicate clematis seed head with silky, feather-like strands radiating from a star-shaped center against a soft green background.

So curious about Megan’s Spanish speaking ability. TBH, I think about that for international players in the WNBA (Li Yueru) and at UConn Jovana Popovich & Marine Dursus. How do the coaches handle it? Does Megan understand coaching in Spanish? Does Marine understand coaching in English? Eg

The downside is the game times will likely be bonkers for us in the US. I foresee lots of time-shifting of games for moi, but I am happy for the timing for the WNBA players.

As a southeasterner, I would say that they’re also very NORTH east heavy. I wouldn’t have predicted that Phillie would be in that #3 geography.

I got up at 4 am to go to #EnoRiverStatePark to see the meteor shower. I saw a few!! (No pix tho). Here are star photos & the first birds to start singing. The green in the first star photo is the ranger’s pointer.

Night photo. Dark trees in the foreground. Clouds in the middle / left of the photo; clear sky with many stars visible on the right. Neon green dots of light at the bottom right of the photo (the ranger’s pointer)

Night photo. Very dark. A few stars are visible. Some trees are visible in the bottom, with a tiny patch of bright light in the bottom center (early signs of sunrise)

Bird list from Merlin: Carolina Wren; Northern Cardinal; Indigo Bunting; Mourning Dove

Finally sharing photos from my trip to Olympic National Park this spring. Here are a few & see substack.com/home/post/p-... for more! My favorite photos: 1. Kalaloch beach 2. Road to the Hoh Rainforest 3. Hurricane Ridge 4. Several lupine near our hotel

Rocky shoreline at Kalaloch Beach with rolling waves, forested coast, and dramatic cloud-filled sky.

A lush temperate rainforest filled with tall evergreen trees draped in moss. A small two-lane road is in the bottom center of the photo. Bright green foliage lines the roadside, and a light mist creates a hazy atmosphere among the trees. A person with a tripod is visible near the lower right edge of the scene.

A panoramic mountain landscape shows grassy ridges and scattered evergreen trees in the foreground, descending into a deep, heavily forested valley. In the distance, a long chain of rugged mountains with patches of snow stretches across the horizon. Overhead, layers of dark and light gray clouds create a dramatic, overcast sky, contrasting with the vivid greens of the hills and forests below.

Several tall spikes of purple and lavender lupine blossoms stand among dense green foliage. The flowers range from pale lavender to deeper violet tones, with unopened buds at the tips. The background is softly out of focus, highlighting the flowers in the foreground.

Four halfback voter outreach postcards are laid out on a wooden table. The postcards feature colorful ears of multicolored corn and the slogan “Be a Voter!” alongside the name Katina Sharp and “Knox County Commission” written in green & orange on the front. Some #StephaniesVision #postcardstoVoters for midterm elections in November. I love @markers4democracy.bsky.social "write & hold" campaigns - we can write LOTS of cards & reach MANY voters! Let's take back state legislatures! Write with us! My postcards at stephaniesvision.etsy.com

Campaign postcards with a grassland and blackbird singing “Be a Voter!” are spread across a table. A handwritten note encourages voters to re-elect Dante Pittman to the North Carolina House, citing good jobs, lower costs, and strong schools, and includes information about early voting and Election Day.

Multiple “Be a Voter!” postcards featuring birds and sunflower imagery are arranged on a wooden table. The sunflowers are from South Dakota!

A handwritten note supporting Ben Schauer for the Iowa House describes experience and policy priorities, including strong public schools, local healthcare, and investment in rural Iowa, with writing supplies and stickers visible around the display.
