Ian lived with HIV and asked for his status to be shared after his death in 1990, to encourage awareness and support. He was the first British celebrity whose death was openly attributed to AIDS. Rest in power, Ian, and know that we continue your legacy with our work.

Our peer supporter Iain and our housing and welfare expert Achim were both working today on the Ian Charleson unit at the Royal Free Hospital, as #Elsinore, the powerful new film celebrating Ian Charlson's life, premiered at the London Film Festival. 1/2

The food in asylum hotels can be so spicy and repetitive that it leaves people living with HIV an impossible choice: take their medication on an empty stomach, risking severe nausea and stomach problems, or skip doses altogether. Find out more on our blog:

Positively UK's Memory Sachikonye and THT CEO Richard Angell spoke to Parliament yesterday about the role of local action in delivering the #HIVActionPlan. Memory spoke as co-ordinator of the UK-CAB, the communication board for the HIV sector, which is hosted by Positively UK.

We are deeply saddened by the death of Ally Van Tillo, founder of the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt. Ally gave people living with HIV, and those we have lost, a lasting place to be remembered and honoured. As co-custodians of the Quilt, we are proud to carry forward that legacy. Requiescat in pace, Ally.
