Apparently I'm not the only one working in the overlap between Christmas carols and lettering :)

"Above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by", plus five five-pointed stars, hand carved on Welsh slate, the stars gilded with 24ct gold leaf. 17.5 x 60 cms. Wall hung.

This ragged red kite passed over yesterday. The frayed trailing edge feathers and ? the shape of head make me think it is an old bird, but still soaring with the youngsters.

Actually the Oude Kerk in Amsterdam, which has THIS MANY ledger stones, covering the entire huge floor, is in the middle of the red light district, so I spent quite a bit of time there. I was there for the beautiful dates. Not a beautiful date.
