Excited to be directing Misery for Auckland Theatre Company. Feels like coming home.

How about random alcohol testing of MPs? They shouldn’t be making laws or decisions on policy while under the influence.

Hopefully they’ll accept/read it now. I wonder how many submissions have been returned like this.

My submission on the Legislation (definition of woman and man) bill was returned to me today, because I mentioned that I had an adult non-binary child. Said offspring had also submitted, and wrote a letter saying they were more than happy for me to mention their identity. Resubmitted.

Finished my Squarespace website, where I write about theatre, film, TV, BATS Theatre and other stuff. It’s been a learning experience. But I’m pleased with how it’s turned out. www.simonbennett.co.nz

No. None of the people I knew at Hasbro when I worked on the show are still there. You’d have as much chance pitching the idea as I would.

I’m sorry, but I can’t remember. It was a long time ago now. Thanks for the question.

Today is the final day for submissions on the Legislation (Definitions of Man and Woman) Bill. You can make a submission via the NZ Parliament website. Don’t let this Trumpian culture wars bullshit infect our country.

It was Becca and Alwyn’s idea They’d both worked on Dino Charge and felt that Heckyl had been short changed in that series.

Gemmayze is great, but loud - due to St Kevin’s Arcade acoustics. Can be challenging for conversation sometimes.

A sad prediction: Republicans will overwhelmingly ‘win’ the midterms and the 2028 Presidential election will be cancelled. Trump has no intention of standing down.

So pleased to have attended the NZ book launch of this wonderful first novel by Karen Holdom. It’s a bittersweet story about two boys, caught up in the catastrophe that was Hitler’s Europe. If you like reading novels, I know you will adore this one.

Vale Tom Stoppard. He gave us some good shit to sink our teeth into. I think my first acting experience was in Rozencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, and my favourite experiences as an audience member include Arcadia and Brazil. May his writing cement his place in the pantheon of greats.

Don’t often do this, but Pernille on Netflix is wonderful viewing. Funny and sad I turns, it’s a slice of life drama that feels so authentic it hurts. Best watched in Norwegian with subtitles if you want to experience the fantastic performances to their fullest.

I did 'acquire' a few items that weren't on the Hasbro inventory. They are all now with the Morphin Museum in California.

Ha! All the actual shooting props and costumes went back to the States, where Hasbro auctioned them off. This was part of a ‘thank you’ box of goodies Hasbro sent to the writing team after the plug had been pulled on the show.
