this is my shitty harness's fault for injecting context size warnings too early bc it's still configured w/ a heuristic for how many messages tiny local models take to start bonking their heads on the ceiling

"i have everything i need. let me just compact my context then get to work" "ok the real file layout doesn't match what's in my context summary"

amazing
A parody of a Classic FM news graphic. A young black indri lemur sits in a tree with its mouth wide open, as if singing. In a circular inset at the upper right, the mathematician J. Peter May, in sunglasses and a pale shirt, sits on a boat with the sea behind him; his head breaks out of the top of the circle. A red "News" label sits above the headline: "New research shows lemurs use operadic techniques when they study infinite loop spaces," with "operadic techniques" in red. At the bottom, the Classic FM logo has been changed to read "CLASSIC Ω^∞Σ^∞X₊" (Omega-infinity Sigma-infinity X-plus), typeset in TeX, with the Omega in red.

For a platform with a short character limit:

Parody Classic FM graphic: a singing indri lemur beside an inset of J. Peter May on a boat. The headline reads "New research shows lemurs use operadic techniques when they study infinite loop spaces"; the logo reads "CLASSIC Ω^∞Σ^∞X₊".

a small price to pay for the joy of getting to compile every version of every piece of software that has ever been written

actually i guess this is a "things" idea not a "stuff" situation, gotta stay on top of what's fashionable to include in one's ontology

they should make particle accelerators but for bigger stuff. big railgun loop for smashing macroscopic stuff at relativistic speeds

model even put "All reviewed code was benign math-library code throughout." in the final report when concluding its work, not understanding that whatever instruction it was getting bonked on the head with server-side was not part of the main task 🙃 like i know it's a math library. i didnt ask 😭

this is basically exactly what i was doing back when i was exclusively using local models w/ pathetic context windows and had to stop doing to get good cache rates lmao

i cannot find the "reminder" anywhere in the session.json so it was entirely server-side. honestly the thing i find malicious here is the reminder itself diverting my agent into wasting tokens on this paranoiac task-irrelevant bullshit

the value of having a test suite is it gives a precise specification of what the code should do. the problem with this is that the code is supposed to be the precise specification of what the code should do
170
ponder @ponder.ooo · 4h
with the advent of agentic coding you dont rly need to keep a test suite any more. your agent can just spam out a new test suite on the fly as-needed

american ai company: we have an amazing model. it's so good. so good that you cant have it yet. youre not trustworthy enough. we have to check with the trump administration before we go rolling it out to pathetic little peons like you chinese ai company: we made a good model here's the weights

Origin and history of argon
argon(n.)

chemical element, 1894, Modern Latin, from Greek argon, neuter of argos "lazy, idle, not working the ground, living without labor," from a- "without" (see a- (3)) + ergon "work"

releasing a model competitive w/ the over-the-top "this is the most incredible powerful thing" type names but going for "inert chemical element" like "just another model from the model factory 👍"
