There's actually 40+ different blood group 'systems', not just your well known A, B and O ones, but they are much rarer (and make my job difficult haha) !

Not so much move away, but things like that can sometimes harden or scar them, or sometimes if it's bad enough the vein can collapse temporarily and kinda flatten out for a while

It helps slow down the blood flow, which kind of 'traps' the blood in your arm, which increases the pressure and helps your veins to stick out more and be easier to find 😊 we could do it without the tourniquet if you have decent veins, but it's just to help make our jobs easier!
