Bad gameplay, but my sister avenging me (only to immediately die too) cracks me up

Localization of dialogue is an art. Building engines and tools is art. Concept art is, well, art. Even placeholding art is art. If design or architecture are art forms then so is any act of building tools or systems. It's all art. And every AI model is built off stolen art, from every art form.

I liked the writing so much I’m considering reading Hirahira Hihiru—also written by Setoguchi Ren’ya—next! I do own it, and it’s in my backlog… I’m just bumping up the priority, hehe (sorry, Dead End Aegis!)

Read Kurai Heya tonight! I flip-flop between calling it “reading” & “playing” visual novels, but this was definitely a title I read—it was definitely more on the novel side! Anyway, it was very depressing (& definitely has some content that can be considered triggering), but I really enjoyed it!

I remember being really scared at The Black Cauldron, but I don’t remember a single thing about that movie other than I had to stop watching it partway through

Not the movie itself, but ET terrified me as a child (I didn’t even watch the movie until I was like 20)

Finished Sayooshi. It was masterful and an incredibly uncomfortable read at the same time. So grateful it was finally translated into English! 😭🙏 Since my headspace is pretty decent right now, I think I'll read Dead End Aegis next...

A lot of ‘90s stuff needs to stay way the hell back in the ‘90s, but imo the ‘90s were correct that clear colored plastic is Fun and Cool.

From Two-Bit Baddie to Total Heartthrob: This Villainess Will Cross-Dress to Impress! LN 6 review: suitablefortreatment.mangabookshelf.com/2026/09/27/f... @jnovelclub.bsky.social

The cover shows Elizabeth, in her military uniform, sitting on a throne-like chair. Sitting on the arm of the chair is a smug handsome older guy with his arms crossed. A younger brown-haired guy bows to her. She's not looking at either of them, but straight ahead.

I can’t believe we finally get to read it in English though! It’s been at the top of my to-read list for years and years. I absolutely love Happy Saint Sheol, which is very clearly a love letter to it mixed with religious trauma!

There’s so much richness and detail that’s completely lost in these kinds of translations, and even if human editors then go through the MTL scripts, that nuance is already gone. Don’t support trash, low effort attempts by individuals who only care about being the “first” to get a translation out.

I really hate all the slop AI and machine translated (MTL) fan translations that are flooding the scene. Years ago, I was ignorant to fan translation sources, but having played many Japanese games for videos at this point, AI or MTL will never understand the nuance of a work of art. Fuck gen AI

If we wanna cut these off at the source, stop sharing them, stop making videos about them, stop hosting them on your websites. Stop giving talentless hacks the attention they crave. Stop rewarding them for defiling our hobbies.

Major update: I am almost certainly going to lose my housing by my birthday. I’ve received notice and even through my efforts it just…isn’t enough. I have about 17 days to find an actually workable solution and…I don’t think that’s going to happen. I think I just won’t have a home.

I have the urge to design another Animal Crossing island, but the path to get there is such a pain (flattening the island, building a catalogue, collecting all the DIYs). I wish there was a sandbox mode or something where you could just design with everything already unlocked!

Sucks that that happened to you! I’d be upset too! I had a company reach out… and I thought it was going well, but then they totally ghosted me after asking for my rates. 😅 It can be really discouraging for sure.

It’s definitely hard to get your foot in the door. 😭 If it weren’t for luck, I wouldn’t have landed my job. It’s tricky reaching out to other companies and trying to find work though. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for you!
