the fact that you people talk about black sails like it's your comfort show. this is the most stressful thing i have ever seen in my life

after listening to a bunch of don giovanni recordings in the past week, i have to say that this is the best one. i know everyone was eagerly waiting for the day that i would share my thoughts on the matter 👍

italians in the youtube comments of mozart's da ponte operas: this libretto is the most beautiful thing ever written. i feel so bad for anyone who can't understand this. the english subtitles capture only a hint of its beauty

regular italians in every day life: we can't understand opera. the way they stretch out the vowels makes it really difficult to comprehend what the singers are saying. trust us, we need subtitles too. and the language is so old-fashioned

we so infrequently see anne without her coat and hat that the merest glimpse of her lower arms and hands makes me feel like this 🥰

i think the fact that opera is usually not in english is intimidating to some people, so maybe you could inform them about the chandos "opera in english" recordings? or inform them about the rake's progress.... my favourite opera

this same person online a few days later, without a trace of irony: people who are fine with switching think they're so much better than those of us with a fixed preference ugh

010

sleepytime tea @pomegranateseed.bsky.social · 09/10/2026

like i genuinely cannot imagine throwing a fit in the comments section of a fic bc the wrong person topped... are you literally insane. how could this possibly be a deal breaker for you

i saw chess the musical when i was in nyc and i bought a t-shirt while i was there and i wear it all the time to the gym. and no one recognizes it. i've had people come up to me to ask me if i play chess. and i really love the idea that i'm just repping the actual game of chess. at the gym

one of the things i didn't notice as a teenager is that pretty much all of yang's friends are from the military. which strikes me as really sad. he didn't even want to be there! he wanted to go to grad school to get a phd in byzantine parchment or w/e. but they forced him to deal with the real world

the fact that this game is on the list of the Top Five Games With Actual Good Writing (Like, Objectively Speaking) and no one ever talks about it. kind of tragic

i'm not going to lie, i've never been able to get behind restorative justice as a concept because i've never seen anyone explain it in a way that doesn't sound identical to the catholic church moving offending priests around from parish to parish. victims just need to learn to forgive, i guess?

destabilized the AH empire in real life. i'm not going to lie, i've kind of begun to believe that the siblings aren't even real... after all, only one character ever even mentions them, if i recall correctly

sleepytime tea @pomegranateseed.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

the fact that ten royal heirs all died under mysterious circumstances and literally no one cares drives me crazy from a writing perspective 😭 it should have thrown the whole empire into chaos. citizens don't just shrug and smile when heirs die mysteriously, just look at how the meyerling affair

we could fix SF by letting a bunch of giant monsters wreck it. turn the fog radioactive. think about it. the only people who'd still choose to live there would probably be really cool

i am still in the process of rereading that one really good really long pacific rim fanfic (my followers start marching towards me, determined to put an end to my tyranny) and it is occurring to me that the san francisco depicted in the fic is significantly cooler than anything irl.
