The other does look like Dolichoplana, probably the same species spreading here in Hawaii too. If you send a sample we can barcode and match to our growing list here in Hawaii.

Just to be clear, this is not a colleague or anyone I've ever worked with, but rather a new professor, that does not work in the field that I do, but apparently now wants to do so, and wants us to facilitate that work. Am I out of touch to think this is professionally inappropriate?

Question for the BlueSky community. How normal is it for someone to contact you to request data that you've generated, but not published so that they can do research that overlaps with yours in your backyard. They aren't asking to collaborate, but asking you to give them your data so they can do it.
