been considering it for years 😔

putrid polly. @pollygonnin.newgrounds.com · 29/09/2026

sorry if that sounds sarcastic?? genuinely mean this btw. need a good-ending alternate universe that reveals that the constant misery is due to mags and charles not resolving their relationship and combined they fix everything.

putrid polly. @pollygonnin.newgrounds.com · 29/09/2026

lmao yeah at the end of the day the problem is that mag and charles never get together and that would def fix the human/mutant relations across the globe. i'd genuinely love a comic run that continues off of chris claremonts run but everything works out cause mags & xavier marry. gays of future past

putrid polly. @pollygonnin.newgrounds.com · 29/09/2026

While charles loses himself. But I like it more when both of them are able to balance each other out. Anyways ya you right xmen writers can be so sloppy and its sad and xavier is so cool and they all deserve so much better, as we all do sadly.

putrid polly. @pollygonnin.newgrounds.com · 29/09/2026

So real!! Your second reply here sums it up well. Charles always believes in that chance for mutants, since the "evil" ones are almost always evil because they are failed by the system. When charles becomes too bitter himself it ruins that whole thing. Though I do like when Mag gets to be good

putrid polly. @pollygonnin.newgrounds.com · 29/09/2026

much more harshly than a lot of others). idk if you've read it but its a refreshing issue i think of often. xavier and xmen is so complicated and tragic but it's also a symbol of hope for real people facing oppression so when its constantly miserable its heart wrenching but idk i love them teehee

110

putrid polly. @pollygonnin.newgrounds.com · 29/09/2026

so well worded!!! i respect you for real. the comics certainly fail to capture that message well a lot of the time, but when they do they do so well. issue 297 of uncanny xmen is really good at capturing this (imo). good heart to hearts and xavier being vulnerable around jube (someone he treats -

120

putrid polly. @pollygonnin.newgrounds.com · 28/09/2026

sorry for another long response - yea you right but I like when my old man is also problematic and soured by decades of oppression and war. but he's also gotta be always looking for a brighter future for everyone or else is character is lost.

110

putrid polly. @pollygonnin.newgrounds.com · 28/09/2026

A nicer prof x is much better but I'm not a big fan of movie prof x because he's too plain and "the good guy". I think there's a good middle ground that definitely exists and has existed (ie like 70s-90s xmen mostly). Him being as he is in more modern appearances is less appealing and exhausting

110

putrid polly. @pollygonnin.newgrounds.com · 28/09/2026

lmao yeah i totally get you. The good(?) thing about comics is that they constantly change writers n stuff so nothing is ever really consistent. Charles is certainly flawed currently and soured and I think that this is happening to X-Men as a whole. As you said, its depressing. I agree -

110

putrid polly. @pollygonnin.newgrounds.com · 28/09/2026

i agree but also i always found it charming that charles is so flawed in many ways, despite being the "good" side of the coin opposite of magneto's "bad". They are both morally grey and using children and soldiers to fight their wars, and a nice Prof X makes him likable but messes up this dichotomy.

Trying to do some Darkstalkers styled sprites. Here is Lucien And Mudo, Morrigan's loyal servants. obscure picks but they are fun to draw.

On her head there is a kokoshnik-like crown.

Been difficult sourcing a riso printer in Canada who's metallic gold drum isn't out of commission, so gonna swap out my ER risographs for etched wood prints with hand-applied gold accents for now; really liking how my Ranni art turned out
