Yes, things are critical at the moment. But the fate of the world is not resting solely upon your shoulders. Breathe. Breathe again. There is no surefire formula to undo all of the crap, but we don’t need you to be perfect. We just need you. To resist, and to persist. Breathe.

From the article:
"Mr. Musk has prompted backlash from advertisers at times, including in late 2023 when he used a crude word to insult those who had pulled back on spending on the platform because of his actions on the app."

Trump quote box:

“I further order all agencies to enforce our longstanding civil-rights laws and to combat illegal private-sector DEl preferences, mandates, policies, programs, and activities.

As a part of this plan, each agency shall identify up to nine potential civil compliance investigations of publicly traded corporations, large nonprofit corporations or associations, foundations with assets of 500 million dollars or more, State and local bar and medical associations, and institutions of higher education with endowments over 1 billion dollars.”

Quote from article:

“On Tuesday, she made two Instagram posts about Musk's gesture during a speech at a President Donald Trump inauguration event on Monday.

The Anti-Defamation League, an antisemitism and human rights watchdog, called it an "awkward gesture" and urged caution in jumping to conclusions. Other extremism monitors and experts pointed out it was unclear what Musk was trying to convey to the crowd of Trump's supporters by thrusting his arm out.”

Vivek thinks Americans are stupid and lazy. Elon believes that what’s good for him is good for everyone. And Loomer is in a bubble. (The median income in 31 states is below $70k.)
RollingStone

After Musk said legal immigration was necessary to bring in "the top ~0.1% of engineering talent," Loomer noted his electric car company Tesla has used H-1B visas to bring in some workers earning roughly $70,000 per year.

"Nobody can afford to live off of $70,000 a year in today's America. Stop crying about declining birth rates when you want us to live like a bunch of welfare queens," she wrote.

It’s laughable, until you consider he’s buddy-buddy with the man he’s installing as an autocrat, who already has an enemies list.

MacKenzie Scott (Bezos) does not get enough attention for the impact she's having on the state of the world.
Her primary causes are Equity™, sewing racial division and supporting illegal immigration.

Her method is "trust-based philanthropy" - giving $16 billion in no strings...

The Love Actually meme — a woman in the foreground opening a door, to find a smiling Matt Gaetz holding up a handwritten sign that reads “How about a Customer Appreciation Week?”

This struck me as odd. What a strange thing to tack onto the end. Defensive much?
PROPUBLICA

Superintendent Don Cuevas wouldn't comment on the racial dynamic of the board.

“We have a good school system," he said. "We have a safe school system. Everybody's treated equal."

(The “Everybody’s treated equal” is highlighted by me)

Could we please get more reporters and pundits to stress that the statement in yellow does not substantiate the reaching of the conclusion in green?
Screen capture from a NYT article:

“The Biden/Garland DOJ spent years reviewing allegations that I committed various crimes. I was charged with nothing: FULLY EXONERATED," Mr. Gaetz wrote on the social media site X.

Note: “I was charged with nothing” is highlighted in yellow.

“FULLY EXONERATED” is in green.

He is right about one thing. People are antsy that they won’t get their social security. Because, you know, Trump was out here last week talking about how we had to make changes, and nothing was sacred. The call (for cutting social security) is coming from inside the House, Tommy!
"Here's the sad truth: the American people don't have any confidence that they will see all the money they paid into Social Security over the years," he said on
Wednesday.

He claims he’s been at maximum contribution for forty years. And his math ain’t mathin’. Good thing he’s only on a senate committee regarding this.
"You know, I've, for 40 years, paid max into Social Security. Max. And probably paid close to a million dollars in Social Security," Alabama's senior senator said during a Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions HELP Committee hearing Feb. 28 on the "retirement crisis in America."

Yes, it’s a bot. But sometimes I like to see if you can throw the skip-logic into other places.
