Over the past 20 years everything I want or need has become much more expensive than inflation or tariffs alone can explain. The people, the workers who actually produce the goods or perform the service, aren't making more. It's all going to private equity. It's like an extra tax. An executive tax.

I think if insider trading can be identified, after the fact, but can't be stopped for some lack of will on the part of legislators then 85% of the gains should be disbursed to the public or taxed at that rate. Insiders getting to keep 15% is a pretty decent incentive fee for 10 seconds of work.
