But yeah - i can't see this going anywhere. I think this will be a huge hit. And i think we'll see it on a lot of other sites very soon.

I think there's some tweaking to do here and I'd probably go flatter. Right now you get a _lot_ of <=0.5x bounty wins, which feels quite disappointing. I sat on a table where everyone stayed 'egg' (level 1) for good hour or so as all the knockouts were small.

Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 05/10/2026
Also I will add that GG has gone much swingier on their pay table than Winamax. A lot of the EV is weighted in the 10x prizes and they've added a 400x (Winamax maxed out at 100x).

Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 05/10/2026
But you don't need to know any of that to play and enjoy the format. Obviously the massive downside here is variance. You're taking the swings of MTTs and adding on a pretty significantly large slap of variance on top onto half of the prize pool.

Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 05/10/2026
There's actually a lot of nuance in there, like how as you progress up "levels" or tier of bounty, the pay table actually changes (if basically flattens out, so if you have $100k bounty already, the max win on that is 10x, not 400x).

Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 05/10/2026
Also, it really is straightforward to understand. If you knock PKOs (and that's pretty ubiquitous today), and you have played Spins, you get this immediately. If you haven't played Spins, its still pretty easy to understand.

Its proven crazy successful in France. Yes, dynamics there are very different (poker fills the gap of online casino, which is not a regulated activity). hence why Expresso (the first Spin SNG) and now this format originated in France.
100
Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 05/10/2026
Or put it another way, in all the ways that PKOs are interesting, particularly late game as bounties get bigger (and there's a larger differential), this has all that but from much earlier on and with even more variety.
100
Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 05/10/2026
Here you see all the value around the table and hands can play out very differently given where you are sat, who you have covered and how big their bounties are. Saw someone today in a $5 with a $770 bounty. It made for some very interesting play.

Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 05/10/2026
Mystery bounties have imo always basically sucked. They do nothing new strategically. They don't trigger until you're ITM anyway. And there's no interesting strategic adjustments vs different players as you don't know anyone's bounties.
100
Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 05/10/2026
Now i'm no tournament specialist but seeing that in the early orbits you could have players at your table with wildly different bounty values surely makes things interesting for all players from much earlier on.

Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 05/10/2026
So here's why i think this is probably the Next Big Thing. 1) already huge in France. 2) fixes all the issues with MBTs. 3) it's actually fun 4) casual players obv love it 5) it also should increase edge of skilled players 6) it's easy to understand

Winamax Player Wins Record €922K in Bounties in 258 Minutes
One player collected €922K in bounties as the Space KO tournament paid out more than 10 times its guarantee.

They basically became their top tournament format like, overnight. Mysterys are basically dead there. They are bigger than PKOs. Earlier this year, another French poker operator Betclic copied the format and called them Smash KO.
100
Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 05/10/2026
The format is not new. Winamax created them almost two years ago. They were instantly a huge hit. I think i've done a thread about them before. At Winamax they are called Space KO. They. Are. Massive.

Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 05/10/2026
Oh and _that_ bounty when you inevitably donk off your stack and get knocked, will actually be worth either $402 or (checks calc) $402,000. In a $5 tournament.
100
Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 05/10/2026
But when you knock someone out - you spin! So you might have just won someone's $5 bounty, but actually what you win is anywhere from $2 up to $2000. So imagine first hand, knock someone out, you win instant $1000 but also lol your bounty is now $1005.
100
Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 05/10/2026
At the start, everything is like a PKO. You buy-in. 50/50 split to the prize pool and your bounty. Knock someone out - you get 50% of it, 50% of it goes on your head. so far so pko.
100
Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 05/10/2026
So first, what is it? It's basically what you get if you mash lottery/jackpot sit and gos (Spins, Rush & Cash) with progressive knockout tournaments. Hence JPKO.

GGPoker has launched Ocean KO, part of new genre of poker tournament we're calling Jackpot PKOs. imo this will go down as one of the most pivotal new poker products we've seen, one that gets listed alongside Zoom, PKOs, and Spins. Here's why 👇

And we've probably invested 100+ man hours over the last few weeks improving our directory. We can now say confidently we have by far the most comprehensive directory of online poker: networks, sites, bodies, companies, markets, player pools, its there and connected.

Lots more to come from us. Stay tuned. Things still to cover: - The new software! we have lots to say on that, but i'll have to wait. - The rewards program. Does look solid but we got nothing concrete pre launch, so analysis on that to come.

Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 01/04/2026
Also, plan for first big tournament series running soon after (like SCOOP, but not SCOOP, we've heard).
100
Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 01/04/2026
On top of that: - Big new welcome bonus for everyone (inc existing FD accounts, so lots of money pulled into poker) - Big $150k freeroll series running all next week - Sunday Million (well, 2x$500k guaranteed tournaments) running Sunday week
100
Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 01/04/2026
For players - here's what you get immediately: - A way bigger player pool - it will be double- to triple-sized compared to before, just thanks to PA+MI+NJ - And the push to the FD player base should make games super frothy for a while!
100
Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 01/04/2026
They're keeping the PokerStars brand, but it'll be accessible on FD wallets, _and_ on FanDuel licensing, which makes expanding poker a lot easier.
100
Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 01/04/2026
You'll read a lot of corporatese about synergies and cross promotional opporunities and all that jazz, but the reality is: This is bringing 2 of the biggest US gaming brands together in one place.
100
Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 01/04/2026
And launching this to all of FanDuel's sports bettors in PA-NJ-MU should be Big Deal. That's a lot of accounts. They now are a few clicks from trying out poker. There's some great opportunities between this two brands.

Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 01/04/2026
It puts them in a much stronger spot if and when we have new states. Maine is one. West Virginia likely another, that could come this year. But it means if we _do_ get an IL or a NY, then PokerStars, now operating under FanDuel's licenses, will be ready to pull the trigger.
100
Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 01/04/2026
This is the reason why - this has genuinely taken them well over a year to do this integration. They hadn't forgotten or given up on poker; they were just trying to think long-term and complete this major migration first before moving fwd with shared liquidity.
100
Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 01/04/2026
Ok, now on to why this is still good news for US poker: PokerStars has been on the sidelines for over a year now. No SCOOP. No new product dev. No new markets. No shared liquidity. Their sites have dwindled and ceded a lot of the competition.
100
Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 01/04/2026
3) Ontario is now part of the network!? Unfortunately not. We expect the same treatment (PS x FanDuel) to happen in Ontario later this month or next month. But it will be separate from the US market.
100
Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 01/04/2026
2) Is PokerStars going live in more poker states tho? WV, Nevada, CT? No new states yet. No comment from PS on a plan here. We'll cover this in more detail in future content, but my *opinion* is we'll see WV soon, CT maaaaybe, NV not on horizon. Positioned for Maine '27.

Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 01/04/2026
1) Is FanDuel Poker available in every state FanDuel sportsbook is in? No: It's still only poker in PokerStars' old poker states - PA, NJ, MI. You have to be in those states to play.
100
Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 01/04/2026
Ok to dispel some misunderstandings, here is what is _not_ happening today. Then we'll get into why this is *still* a big deal and what to look forward to in coming days/weeks/months.

It is a major step for the company - and puts them back on the map in the US after a year+ of being basically AWOL as other sites did PA shared liquidity.

Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 01/04/2026
This has been in the works for at least 18 months at PokerStars/FanDuel, bringing together these 2 brands. It opens up poker to all FanDuel account holders in these states - they're an app download away from trying poker.

Nick Jones @pokerprojones.com · 01/04/2026
Anyway, on with the details - here's what just happened: - Last night, PS MI/PA/NJ shut down - Today, 8am ET, they came back online - but under the FanDuel domain - New software - New welcome bonus *for everyone* - New rewards - New three-state network
