There's nothing more frustrating than realizing you miscalculated 3 cards, because no card exists alone. One card being too strong makes another too weak, fixing that breaks 2 others, and then you're recalculating half the game because apparently every stupid card depends on every other stupid card.

#mörktober, but different this year: I'm making a card game. Every prompt becomes a card, 31 special cards in all. GALGENSTICH is a trick-taking game played in the taverns of the dying world, descended from a real 15th-century German card game.
Cover artwork for the tabletop card game "Galgenstich" by Poisson de Colette. A high-contrast black-and-white woodcut-style illustration shows a hanged figure suspended from a wooden gallows pole, with a broadsword impaled horizontally through its torso. The dark, stippled background features silhouettes of trees and additional wooden stakes, with faint skull-like faces emerging from the shadowed ground. The title "galgenstich" appears in bold Gothic typeface at the top, with the tagline "a tavern game for the dying world."
