When we reunited in 2016 and began writing songs, we wrote a song that had the same feel as 'Westerberg' (ie. slow, 3/4 time, loud-quiet-loud, etc). We wanted to pay homage to our own song of the past and titled the song "Easterberg" which came out on our 2018 album 'Secret Club'.

When we did the 2004 'All Along' complete discography, sadly the extended outro would not fit and was lost to time and the soon-to-be world of streaming. Luckily, we were able to re-add the long outro with the 2017 20th Anny Japan CD/streaming of the album.

P.S. I named the song Westerberg because I’m a replacement. Get it? FUN FACT: As pointed out, we cleverly named the song "Westerberg" as Susie and Paul W. were both 'replacements'. On the original issue of 1997's 'In Memory Of Bab' album, the song ends with a fade out.

Plus, she was pretty and thin and I didn’t feel like I measured up: awkward, chubby, staring at the neck of my guitar during the set and sing/shouting my songs. We wrote this song in Keith‘s garage. It just felt the way I was feeling: elbowing my way into a group dynamic that was fully formed.

This song is about being the replacement for Pohgoh’s first singer Kobi. I was really nervous because she was a true lead singer: dancing around the stage, acting goofy, charming everyone, and just having the best time.

FUN FACT: The song’s title was simply taken from words printed on the drywall of our practice space. Presently, our friend Jeremy is the touring guitar tech for the 70’s classic rockers Kansas.

I carried a full class load at USF (University of South Florida), worked 30 hours a week and the band practiced twice a week for hours at a time. Looking back on this song it’s really just one giant whine about how busy I was. I had no idea how good things were.

So, he changed the title from "Better Days" to “Chapel Of Ghouls”, a well known song from fellow Tampans Morbid Angel (who practiced a couple doors down from us). We laughed and liked it so much, we kept the name.

I’ve always struggled with my weight, whether or not it was warranted. I started dieting at the age of 13, going to Weight Watchers to try and shrink my growing body. That has resulted in years of dieting for some reason or another, however convincing. I battle with my body image to this day.

We’d received a review from a statewide indie music publication that was mediocre, bordering on mean. The final line stated something to the effect that as a band, we’d “never make it past the stateline”. So I wrote a reply, feeling a bit hurt and fragile, holding my first bad review in my hands.

When “Friend X” couldn’t be included on the In Memory Of Bab album for legal reasons, we went back into the studio, after the band had broken up, to record “Tell Me Truly” and “All Along” to pad the album with more tracks before its release in 1997. #pohgoh #inmemoryofbab #allalong

FUN FACT: I think this is the most fun we had recording back up vocals. On 8 track reel to reel. Most of the backups and harmonies were done by me, Matt and Keith live on one mic. We dubbed ourselves The Sunshine Gang.

I had a fight with my boyfriend. We were serious, but the writing was on the wall: things were ending soon. He revealed something about the way he felt about me that I was completely shocked by and I didn’t need a lot of words in the song to convey how what he said made me feel.

I have my dad‘s blue eyes & his complete lack of patience. I don’t show out and get angry in public spaces but I can be pretty annoying to be around when I’m out of it. I was looking for coping mechanisms and failing. Then I’d stay up all night thinking about what happened that day to no avail.

This was the first song completely written w/ the new lineup (the music to “Resolution” had already been written and I added my parts and lyrics/melody when I joined). We were very pleased w/ “Tired Ear”. We felt it had a little Madder Rose vibe, at the time. Which was more than fine with us.

FUN FACT: While in the studio, we thought using a drum machine would sound cool on the song. In our naivety, we didn’t realise you can’t add a drum machine to a song not recorded to a click. So, Keith played the drum sample manually, hence the every so often slightly off beat hit in the song.
