Today’s finished sketchbook page, plus a few other small things. (And a squirrel!)

Katherine Dinger @pocketmole.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

The chill chubby bird I dew in the cafe this afternoon. I would like to change a couple of things but alas I drew it in marker. I don’t think she minds imperfection though. #drawing #ohuhu #sketchbook #markers

A page from my sketchbook today. Maybe with a few more posts I’ll manage to creep to 100 followers. 😅

I did this painting for a friend of mine, because they like bats and roses. #procreate #digitalpainting

I’ve been having terrible insomnia for the past two months - apparently a side effect of my PTSD. Isn‘t it cool how someone can upend your reality and be totally fine themselves? Meanwhile I’m up at 3AM and journaling to my tiny BlueSky audience. Great fun. Anyway here is a painting I did.

A spidery lady backed by hot pink. I’m too tired to go into more detail.

I think these prints look quite nice, but as a forewarning they are fragile too. I would order again and be extra careful with them now that I know.

This Jimothy shirt I designed for BlizzCon was really popular so I thought I’d share this video of how I drew it in procreate. 🦝💖🗑️

Are you at Blizzcon? Come find me and I’ll give you a Jimothy enamel pin! It’s so fun to see a sketch come to life as a physical product. I also did the Jimothy tarot shirt, but those are in short supply. #blizzcon #worldofwarcraft #jimothy

I printed some of my sketches on sticker paper at FedEx, then used my cricut to cut them out. They have a small lip around the outside to make it easy to remove the backing. There is a QR code on each sticker that links to my site too. Hopefully I’ll get a few people to download the Finch Friends 😅

This image came to me after waking up from a nightmare yesterday. I finished painting it today. I really tried to exercise restraint by not overworking the piece, so I’m kind of proud that some areas remain a little sketchy.

Work in progress - woke up from a nightmare and this image was in my head. Got out of bed and sketched it up quickly before I risked forgetting it.

17 years ago, I first discovered Flipnote Studio on the Nintendo DSi and it transformed my life. It's also half of my entire existence now since I tried it. If you just discovered me or know me for more than a decade, thank you all very much for still being here! I am there thanks to you all❤️

A photo of my Nintendo DSi with many illustrated foxes all arround it doing many things such as playing or resting.

One fox is different, there is also one baguette.

I discovered Flipnote Studio for the very first time back in the September 9th 2009.

Finished my leetle beetle. I told someone I was drawing a beetle earlier and they thought I meant a Beatle. They were not super excited to see what I actually meant. 😅 #procreate #beetle #stagbeetle #insect #darkartwork

Dolly is done! I started it on Tuesday after hearing the sad news and worked on it each afternoon since (except yesterday.) I have stared at it for so long that I honestly can’t tell if it looks like her anymore. But I’m happy to be finished. My goal was to make her feel like a ray of sunshine.☀️

Not done yet, but working on this portrait of sweet Dolly tonight. I wont be able to finish before bed so I’m hoping to get it done with a few more hours in a cafe tomorrow. It’s still pretty rough but it’s getting somewhere! #procreate #dollyparton #painting #wip

Sat in a cafe today and decided to do some painting from life. Anything with straight lines (especially when perspective is involved) is my kryptonite. I’m rather proud of how this turned out given how hard it was for me to do! #procreate #digitalpainting #sketchpaint

Went to my new favorite cafe today. I enjoy painting to music, but headsets hurt after a while. The owner of the cafe has an incredible rotation of songs going at all times. It’s the only place I’ve found where I’m happy to work without a headset on. It’s nice to my ears on multiple levels.

A quick walk through my newest sketchbook. Been doing lots of my silly marker drawings over the past week. I hope to fill a couple more pages and then add a ton of new stickers to the app (including a number of free ones.) I want to redo the exercise bird, reading bird, and hot/sweaty bird. #drawing

My snowdrop moth piece is all done. This was another painting done for therapy, and it contains a bunch of symbolism that doesn’t mean anything to anyone but me, haha. It was a struggle to finish it, but I got there. 🤍 #procreate #digitalpainting #moth #artistofbluesky #art

Digital painting done in procreate. Shows a glowing Luna-adjacent moth with fuzzy wings. It flows above a wreath of snowdrop flowers. The borders of the composition are edged in ferns.

I feel like I got lucky at good will today. They had only one frame in the right size (for only $2) and the color happens to compliment the painting well. If anyone has tips for minimizing those scratches I’d love to hear it. #digitalpainting #procreate #thrifting #art #painting

Starting a painting is my least favorite part of the process, because I begin so messily. The whole time I work I think I am creating a small disaster, until all of a sudden a switch flips in my head and I go… oh! Now it’s getting somewhere. #digitalpainting #procreate #arttherapy

A small peek at the next picture I’m working on. I noticed that several of my recents had similar themes of being dominated by a single color and having a circular frame to the composition. I decided to continue the trend and go with a white (ish) theme this time. #digitalart #procreate #painting
