these are the Original (2022) and the First Redraw (2024)

Original version of Beach Boy. Main differences are that the drawing is cropped at mid thigh, his shorts are longer and he has no top surgery scars (weak) (I might’ve still been egg moding)

First Redraw of Beach Boy. Mostly the same, but I made a few slight changes. Made the shorts a bit shorter but kept the white undershorts, changed his hairstyle a bit, made him wear the sunglasses, painted his nails and gave him top surgery scars (based) (no longer egg moding)

Same picture as before, just a cropped version to show the face/torso more close up.

She stands tall with a sheer icy dress, with two layers. The under layer is like a thin slip dress, while the top layer is shaped more like a ballgown or fancy sleepwear with wide flowing sleeves. She has long flowing hair that reaches the bottom of her dress. She has a dark fur scarf around her neck, and she wears an icy crown like a pointy stylized star.

Playing with layering half tone again. Loosely and slowly working on one of two persona designs, his name is Pocket :} [ #art #characterart #oc #ocsky ]

Digital illustration. He is illustrated in blue monochrome and layered half tones, with a bright yellow background. This is a design test for a persona of mine named Pocket. He is facing the viewer head on and walking forward, hands in his jacket pockets. His face is mostly covered by shadow, and has a neutral expression. He wears a trapper hat with implied cat ears. He wears a bomber jacket and large pants with boots. His fashion is inspired by a mixture of tech-wear and steampunk/fantasy attire.

How my art changed from 2020 —> 2025 I thought it would be apt to compare two examples of my fan art. It seems my love of vibrantly colored bs will never die lol

Fanart of Mondo Owada from Danganronpa that I drew in 2020. It’s a redraw I did in my style of his official splash art, where he’s wearing an all white version of his outfit and holding a traffic sign (?).

Fanart of Sosuke Ikariya from the visual novel Of The Devil. He is holding his sword, Yoru, by the sheath and looking down at the viewer with an intense expression.

Experimenting with some persona/gender thoughts. Idk if this is an evolution of Pocket or something else, but I like him. [ #art #characterdesign #characterart #persona ]

Black and white digital illustration. A Man is facing 3/4ths with a neutral expression. He has large, dark eyes but most of his face is covered by shadow. He’s wearing a trapper hat, but with a hat brim and pieces on top that loosely resemble cat ears. The “inside” of the ear and sides of the hat are a quilted material. He’s wearing a black shirt and a utility/cargo jacket with a large ribbed collar.

Black and white digital illustration. Same man as before, but ideas of what he looks like without the hat. He has the same large dark eyes, but no shadows on his face. He has an uncomfortable expression. He has a buzz cut. On the left hand side he has bushy/round eyebrows, and on the right hand side he has sleeker thick eye brows and rectangular glasses.

Black and white digital illustration. Same man as before, from a bird’s eye pov. He has a neutral expression and is looking up towards the viewer. Like the “Bugs when you lift up a rock” meme.

Most of his face is covered in shadow. He’s wearing a variation of the trapper hat. This version has no additional hat brim, and the pieces loosely shaped like cat ears are facing forward rather than outwards/to the side. He wears a black t-shirt.

I played through Royal Alchemist with my roommate and had a nice time! Thought it would be fun to try designing the princes in my style for studying purposes [ #royalalchemist #visualnovel #characterdesign #characterart #art ]

Line up of all three designs (Prince Nazir, Prince Serin, and Prince Aurelius).

Design for Prince Nazir from the visual novel Royal Alchemist. He has dark wavy hair streaked with red. It’s in two braids that connect in the front. He’s wearing loose billowing pants in a dark maroon color, dark pointed boots, a draping off-white shirt with a plunging neckline, and a pink/pale yellow robe with roses. He wears bronze jewelry and green glass beads.

Design for Prince Serin from the visual novel Royal Alchemist. He has straight dark teal hair parted in the middle, that is asymmetrical on the right side. He is wearing an off white and cream tail coat with matching pants. The coat has gold cuffs with star cut outs, teal seams, and the tails are gold with brown stripes and similar cut outs. He has an asymmetrical green cape and a silk neckpiece, both loosely colored like the northern lights. He’s wearing white gloves with teal seams, and brown loafers with a similar star motif.

Design for Aurelius from the visual novel Royal Alchemist. He has long wavy black hair that curls at the ends. He’s wearing a dark purple cloak with a large gray fur hood, and fur lining along the bottom. There are thorn-like shapes along the edges. It’s clasped together with two green and pink rose gems. He’s wearing a frilly white undershirt with flowing sleeves and a black bottom with ruffles. On top he’s wearing a dark purple and black waist jacket. He’s wearing black thigh high boots with dark purple cuffs. He’s holding a rapier in his right hand, with a rose shaped pommel and a hand guard shaped like curving thorns.

Got to look at some old photos of myself recently which was fun. Being bug eyed and exhausted has been my brand forever it seems { #art #selfportrait #sketch #biocomic }

Three drawings of my childhood self at different ages. First is me at around 12-13 labeled “Strange tweenaged creature”. I have large dark bug eyes, dark eye circles, and long straight dark hair. Second is me around 8-10 labeled “Has not learned how to smile with teeth yet (and never will)”. Same bug eyes with dark circles, and a large unsettling smile. Dark hair in a low pony tail. Third is me around 5, labeled “Absolute swag stoner energy shown in kindergarten class photo. Also kind of a ginger”. Same large bug eyes with dark circles. Long messy hair with bangs. Dope flannel shirt.

Drawing of me currently. I have similar large tired eyes, and large glasses. I also have an undercut with a bun, and stubble. Text bubbles read: “My eyes are still like that, they’re just not too big for my face anymore.” “The Glasses weirdly offset a lot. Maybe it’s because they cover my dark circles somewhat.”

I’ve been in the yaoi mines lately trying to create a romance comic. I’m still in the iterative phases but I want to post about it more in detail soon. For now though chibi practice be upon ye feat Ash and Rowan { #art #oc #ocsky #chibi #chibiart #characterdesign }

Chibi drawing of Ash (He/him) from my WIP. He’s smiling with one arm extended, and the other balled in a fist by his head. He’s wearing athletic wear in shades of blue and a hockey jersey inspired sweatshirt. He has an undercut with a pony tail that flares out behind him like a mane. His hair fades from dark brown, to a caramel orange, to blonde. He has tan skin, blue/yellow eyes, and various piercings.

Chibi drawing of Rowan (He/him). He is frowning and standing with one arm down and the other in his jacket pocket. He has grayish-teal curly hair worn in a half up half down style. His eyes are a warm purple, and he has four face moles (one on each cheek, one on his left eyelid and one by the left side of his mouth). He is wearing a dark utility jacket and sweater, jeans and sneakers.
