I managed to restore a bunch of graphical stuff I never thought I was going to be able to restore. The game now looks just about perfect (ignoring the early assets the PC version uses for some reason). I made a little writeup about it: partymod.newnet.city/writeups/4.h...

youtube has somehow arrived at almost perfect anti-recommendations for me. no, show me freaks (complementary) talking about old tech i've never heard of or a specific PPU feature in the snes or something

"8K OLED VR will blow your mind." from 'optimum', a guy who titles all of his videos with elon musk voice and has big time rich kid vibes. to be honest i've watched like two minutes total of his stuff and it all just has a real stink to it. he's really into gamer mice but seems to only play overwatch which doesn't seem like a great sign

some video about how the metal gear solid v engine is optimized (most reddit opinion on earth, rarely ever interrogated that it's a single game created on a massive budget being used as a reference point for a whole engine. come on) from "threat interactive", a guy so annoying and wrong about everything that basically every graphics programming group has banned him

Did you know that the PC release of THPS2 also included all of the THPS1 levels in its files, not just the 3 that are used in-game? I made a side mode that restores the THPS1 career mode inside of THPS2 in the new version of the patch. It's available via the config or a launch flag

the media apps in macos 26 are a real disaster. they're optimizing to have as many overlapping elements as possible to show off the new shader effects, but that adversely affects basic legibility. also the safe spots for window movement are gone (but still functionally present, at least)

11 minutes and the best input lag test this dude can come up with is "uhhh here it is next to dolphin on a steam deck" i did some real tests (f-zero gx settings menu): 8 frames latency with NSO gamecube controller 7 frames latency with gp2040ce 3 frames latency on original hardware
