I just released my most technically complex iOS / Mac app : PanicVault. It was quite a journey to build a cross device password manager, a full website, and a Google Chrome extension whilst doing the formalities associated with releasing an app using cryptography. Have a look: www.panicvault.org
panicvault.org
PanicVault - Secure Password Manager | KeePass Sync & AutoFill
Your passwords, your file, your control. A secure, offline-first password manager using the open KeePass format. No subscription. No cloud lock-in.

A guy in Germany bought almost all my iOS apps during the same hour (I have 65 apps so it was a noticeable spike in sales). WTF ? #indiedev #iosdev #indie

My fairly complex AI-based iOS app was approved by Apple in literally 5 minutes. It usually takes hours and tons of back and forth. Apple will never fail to surprise me…

I'm not following enough people here to have a decent feed. How does one deal about this? Any particular way to find interesting accounts?

What are the best current events / news accounts to follow here?

Hadn’t checked on here for a few months. Not sure it’s better than the other alternatives. I get daily new (spam) followers, reminds me of early Twitter for this. As for the rest, I’m too lazy to build a proper social graph here for now…

So today I satisfied my urge for developing a new iOS app. I have really streamlined my development process: less than 5 hours to develop v1, the corresponding marketing website and submission to the App Store. Now hoping it will be validated 😊 - this will be my 16th iOS app 🤪
Waiting for approval on the App Store

So Bluesky’s version of shitposting should be called shitskeeting? Hard to get rid of the corresponding mental image.

Thanks for the suggestions 😊 - not really looking to build on atproto right now, I’m more in wait & see mode for this. I would rather build a small utility app for iOS or something like that.

Yet again, I feel this urge to build a new iOS app. Anybody out there needing something that is not currently properly fulfilled with what’s available on the App Store?

Haha I Hope the “revelation” wasn’t too disappointing. And yes I agree, I am a visual person too. I just never know which mugshot to pick :)

I don’t get this policing thing with idiotic unwritten rules. Love the one where you’re supposed to put a content warning if you post a selfie whilst looking directly at the camera. I don’t do selfies but I’m really tempted. Maybe some people will explode as if they had looked directly into the sun?

The amount of fake follows I get every day on here reminds me very much of early Twitter days with users using automated follow for follow strategies to artificially grow their following. BUT the blue bird has been replaced by a blue sky, which l’m confident will literally change *everything*.

Yes - this is an issue with Chromium. See later comment with several bug reports for Chromium + Windows. We’re not happy with adding yet another dependency with electron-edge and do a C# bridge for this I’m afraid.

Pierre @pms.bsky.social · 07/05/2023
Not all Chromium versions are born equal ;)

Wouldn’t have expected less from you 🤣 - I was actually not referring to Clubdeck at all - which uses the default Chrome picker ; you can happily blame them (and while I’m at it, Windows, which is frankly a good pile of crap overall)!

I’m curious as to how you can confidently say that the main distribution channel of Clubhouse was twitter? Are you referring to people tweeting out the rooms they were attending? Most people have clearly no idea where Clubhouse’s audience was/is (hint: not the US). Spaces didn’t “kill” Clubhouse.
000
Pierre @pms.bsky.social · 06/05/2023
I disagree - they didn’t out execute Clubhouse. The Spaces product is still largely inferior, including for audio quality vs Clubhouse. They just had the « influencers », user base and crypto bros to make the product take off. Not the features.

Are there any iOS developers who track their apps rankings / keywords on here? If so, I have an app for you: itunes.apple.com/app/6447305870 - less costly than the ASO tools available out there, and provide you with insights directly on your Home Screen via widgets!

‎Keyword Tracker: ASO Widgets

It gives unlimited access to the Analyze tab (which is freely accessible for 10 days so that users can see what they will get) + gives you the ability to configure home / Lock Screen widgets + gives you the ability to export all your data (which is encrypted on your device / iCloud in any case).
