Used to rent this game all the time when I was a kid. This and Tekken 4 defined the ideal PS2 aesthetic for me!

Been struggling for a few days to find a video that talked about Sweet Home and Resident Evil's connection to a genre of Japanese "Mansion Mystery" stories and I'm about at my wit's end. Really want the video as a source. Could it be one of @thespherehunter.bsky.social's videos? #residentevil

Which 4 Fighting Games mattered the most to YOU growing up? 1. Tekken 3 2. Tekken 4 3. Virtua Fighter 4 4. Soul Calibur 2

Hwaorang trying to drop an axe kick on Eddy Gordo in Tekken 3.

Xiaoyu knocking Kazuya off his feet with a palm strike in Tekken 4.

Akira Yuki knocking Sarah Bryant over with a Tetsuzankou/back strike in Virtua Fighter 4, his upper body in flames (pretty sure that effect is just an edit of the screenshot).

Talim blocking Mitsurugi's downwards slash in Soul Calibur 2.

After seeing some trailers for the game on Cinematech, I was intriqued by the concept. Having already played The Bouncer, I was probably interested in the overall aesthetic as well. I think the main thing that got me into the game was the protagonist, who was very optimistic and kind.

Watching my older sister beat OG Resident Evil 2 on Claire's A Scenario. Resident Evil games were one of the main ways that me and my sister bonded when we were growing up, and we were very happy to see the end of Claire's journey. I imagine this is one reason why I still look up to this character.

I mostly do video essays about survival horror games and lost media, but I'm also a film student and occasionally post my attempts at filmmaking. I like to do voiceover as well. www.youtube.com/watch?v=eodZ...

There were also charming FMV cutscenes detailing what the human characters were doing over the course of the story, with each CGI character modeled after the actor that would have played them in Jan De Bont's film, had it got made. Why did I have to wake up...? 2/2

I dreamt I discovered an unreleased Godzilla game for the N64 based on Jan De Bont's unmade version of the first US Godzilla film. Godzilla's model looked like the T-rex from the "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" games, but with Godzilla's fins. Gameplay was similar to Godzilla: Generations. 1/2

Looks pretty awesome in "action" game terms, and the new genma look pretty fearsome. Will have to see if there's still a nice balance of hack-and-slash, or if it's just "soulslike." I'd like to see the giant monk from the cancelled PS1 version of Onimusha: Warlords show up.

Onimusha was originally being developed for the PS1, and there's footage of one or more beta builds of the PS1 version floating around YouTube. Seems like the PS1 version might have had even stronger survival horror elements. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKM-...
