Oh. I see the misunderstanding now. I was never actually against the organization as a whole. I was against its misplaced priorities and treatment towards staff, guests, and its path towards becoming a personal vanity project as such a path would inevitably destroy the organization.

I get your concern, but I specifically attended to ensure that they were keeping their word on what they intended to change. Plus, in my case, there were.... others harmed who would have preferred to not have it brought up for their own sake, and I must honor that.

I have some theories as to why he is still there. Do you know the saying "never take extra work for free?"... Like imagine getting a promotion where you get no extra pay and they pile on a bunch of extra work for you. Who would willingly sign up for that?

It's tough. But there's a reason we need to be careful. There's always the saying of innocent until proven guilty, even when we know they are guilty. If we can't prove ourselves appropriately, then all it does is make it harder for us to seek proper accountability later.

The problems are not to be understated. After all, I also effectively left the community for 1.5 years over it. There is undoubtedly more cleanup to do, but we also need to be mindful of our own credibility. It's hard to prove stuff because it is genuinely difficult to change belief.

You may be missing some context. Last year I called them out for effectively mistreating staff members and guests and mentioning that the chairman turned his con into his own vanity project at others' expense. And yet I was the only one who could so brazenly speak my mind and get away with it.

Don't forget that I was one too in a sense and I don't fault this person for thinking the way they did. It took me a long time to figure out how to properly sort my emotions. I'm not blaming this person for anything. And don't get me wrong. Lucas still owes me a debt he will pay for everything.

Oh their issues were huge. I was and still am one of their harshest critics. But I will be critical only on matters that are actually true. Assumptions and extrapolations need to be corrected. And I'm the one who most brought up their issue of following a flawed vision of the con last year.
