Doing some fabric research to find out that our traditional fabric in west Cameroon (Bamiléké) came from the Wukari region by the Jukun ppl who were in both Nigeria and NW Cameroon. Isn’t it so wild someone drew imaginary borders one day and boom now you need a passport to go see your kin??? lol

In her first painting series, Trusting Memories, she uses West African textiles, acrylic paint, ink and digital media to reflect on the erasure of queer African histories, the legacy of colonization, personal and collective memory, grief, shame and love.
The central thesis in her work is the question "whose imagination are you living in?" a powerful inquiry inviting us to interrogate white supremacist, cisheteronormative and capitalist norms that shape our societies and erode our bodies and minds.
