Someone was asking for a time when Jace felt safe and I wanted to like, finish it? But WORK IS BUSY so have the end part of a Rakdos enforcer getting a night visit from the Living Guildpact over a bad dream featuring...towers...(She has accepted she is his emotional support cultist)

Finally, his voice, very small: “So how do I…stop this from occurring? If, you know, something like that was to occur. Me. Um. Going rogue.”
“Don’t eat cheese before bed if you don’t want bad dreams.”
He stared at her for a second, and then laughed, the tension breaking.
“Okay no, seriously, uh, the basics are don’t make a big tower, or if you enter a big tower, be really careful about it.”
“How will I know?”
“I think you’ll know. But seriously, maybe speak with your people more. They were comin’ to intervene, but part of you was askin’ why, the other was…hoping they’d be faster to finish the job maybe, or to defend you. So first of all, talk to ‘em. Get a meal together. S’lonely life from the looks of things, an’ I bet you’re not the only one feelin’ it.Lastly, think about why you wanted to do the thing. Was it to make something better, or make it worse, an’ then ask yourself what the cost is.”
Jace stared at her for longer than she liked, the man didn’t like eye-contact. “You’d stop me if anything like this happened, right?”
He’d never asked for help before. Eris’ heart stuttered a little bit, and privately she hoped that it didn’t show on her face.
“Jace. Our job…my job…is to make sure you don’t get that far. Dunno about the others. Vesi’d also help, and Nene would absolutely intervene, but it may be droppin you from a great height an’ seeing how far you can fly, some kind o’ intervention would occur.”

“Do you promise?” The words were a whisper.
She moved without thinking, as she’d do to anyone telling her their secrets, no matter how much she didn’t want to carry them. She would hold their hand, give them something to grip as they found themselves again, wait until that storm had passed. Jace’s skin felt cold and he jumped at her touch, Eris darting her hand away like she’d been burned. But then Jace made a little noise, soft, under his breath, and Eris hoped she was making the right decision when she laid her hand out close to his, palm up. “I’m sorry, I didn’t ask and I touched you. May I hold your hand?”
He was going to ask why, she told herself, but those red-rimmed eyes met hers, darted down to her hand and back again.
Maybe he was going to pull aw-
Nope. Palm to palm. Eris closed her other hand over his, tried to will as much calm as she could into him. “I promise I will do everything I can to not let you go to dark places. But in return, you gotta be honest with me, and the others, if these things start rearin’ their ugly head.”
“But you’ll keep things safe?”
“Yes, we’ll – I’ll - try to keep the world - and you - safe. But try to have your crisis here otherwise it might be a bit difficult.”
He exhaled slowly, and then squeezed her hands back, again holding it on for just that little bit too long. It really had shaken him. Her heart broke.
“You want to stay here tonight?”

Ulasht and unrelated Olivia posting hours as I am back to gremlin sketches (artists notes in ALT text)

biro sketches ported to digital, of the hellion hydra Ulasht from Magic the Gathering The first is facing to it's right, in a swirl of coils, the heads represented with disks and little directional arrows for it's spikes and tentacles. It's centipede style legs are used to give the creature structure. The second sketch is more a thumbnail of the body itself, now exploring the planes of a ball python rising up to strike, tight curves and straight sections to show the animal's strength. Headless tho.

Everything about this is wrong tbh she's coiling herself around the sword and it needs to be more dynamic, but the Utena vibes were what I was trying to catch.

Olivia Voldaren again, this time as biro ported to digital and essentially chicken scratch guidance for further work up. Still drawing from Utena for dramatic sword lifts, for a vampire that can move through the air so that's going to mess with, you know, actual sword stances. But the hands still have to be right. The image itself is Olivia's body facing left, her head to the right, the sword is diagonally over her, as though she is preparing for either a defensive parry or a downward strike on her prey. Her original design is mostly armour, but her smaller skirt can provide slight movement (waves to remind myself over the legs) but there's heavier over-armour as well. Her hair will billow behind and up for further movement. A few lines for her expression, mouth open, teeth showing, head tilted towards her target. Need to capture her haughtiness in the nxt set of sketches.

A snipped of fanfic of a conversation between an Orzhova heiress who is very reach and snooty about it, and a Boros soldier as she meets with her 'friends' - workmates? charity cases maybe - on her flying broom to pick up the Simic Hybrid (Ivestris/Vesi) and do a sweep of an area for trouble. The text goes:

“-Okay fine, but are they poor.”
“Does that matter.” The soldier replied. “You just need to scout the area, and drop Vesi off where they need to be.”
“It matters because I’m not being shanked for someone I don’t know. I’m not being shanked for someone I do know.”
Lavinia frowned at her, but tried to put it out of mind. The Orzhov had strange ways.

My group won at quilt today. We don't know what winning at quilt is, but we know we won it, which is good. Actually, I think all twelve groups won at quilt, which is even better! A small friend hung out while waiting for the go-ahead. Butterflies during 2026 Trans Pride London, very fitting.

Jace really wasn’t responding. Lavinia found herself now in a cold sweat - she wasn’t a telepath herself, but they’d agreed to some kind of mental signal if she needed to check in - grudgingly, of course.

Collar up, the window of one of the cafes at her back, she tried to do the little trick again, but either he was ignoring her or she was doing it wrong, or…or…..

A cheer went up as a couple of Izzet storm mages had made an appearance, but said cheer turned to hooting and yelling when how to deal with the blaze became a three way shouting match between them, the Boros guards trying to contain the fire, and the Azorius talking about restrictions and regulations - Lavinia could name about six of the top of her head but all were overruled by the danger to the paperwork going up in the building and she very nearly broke cover, so compelled but something caught her eye.

The little Boros man from the day before, plain-clothed in standard leathers that strained at his belly but nimble around the crowd that was gathering. He brightened the moment a newcomer stepped out, nearly as tall as Lavinia, a shock of white hair pushed under a dark grey woolen thing and the heavy jacket she’d seen on Rakdos enforcers back when she’d been an actual officer on the street. The Rakdos Cultist seemed very displeased, and rather tired -

And oddly spooked by the flames. Lavinia had never seen a Cultist flinch from fire before.

Growling: “Absolute cheek askin’ me to pay to use the pisser. Polly, what is this.” Low voice but musical, a smoker’s burr. The ‘Wot yz thizz’ was Undercity East, slurred slightly with the true Rakdos patois. In their hands were two paper cups, paper tops, steam curling out of the drinking part and a couple of paper bags, of which the little man took one and peeked inside.

“It’s a bacon sandwich.” he responded cheerfully.

“No, this is an insult to th’ pigs. Look at it! Floppy! Wet! I’m surprised this is cooked, wait do they think my folk eat raw-”

tumblr is a gift that keeps giving. Does the Multiverse have weed? IDK but I do know it has Halo (I mess around with an AU that has Jace as Ugin's pet warlock in an attempt to stop Bolas during his Guildpact years)

ITS HEEERE. One my top 5 'media that shaped me' things. The English voice cast were so good, the action so well animated and it took years for me to see it end to end - so good. Book is packed with watercolours, character sheets and backgrounds. Incredible. Yes, Miyazaki did a lot of work on this.

The book 'Sourcebook of Sherlock Hound' on a dark grey sofa cushion. The anime was Hayao Miyazaki's take on Sherlock Holmes except as dogs. The cover has Hound and Watson in their little blue buggy, Mrs Hudson with her hair blowing in the wind at the wheel of her husband's silver car, with the London Bridge in the background. No mention of Tamiyo can be done without Nashi who Does Not Approve and is truly the Unluckiest in any AU or timeline because rat boy is trying so hard to be a cultist but he's just not getting anywhere with it and THIS GUY shows up. (Tezz did not kill Nashi's parents in this timeline just his vibe)
