I never got detention in school. Not because I didn't do anything I shouldn't. I was just never caught. Incidentally, in Danish we call detention 'eftersidning' which translates directly as 'after sitting'.

When I found a 50 year old copy of IMHO the best Danish book on keeping freshwater fish, the pages weren't cut. Reading it felt quite special. The author's passion for the subject eminates from every page and I think it would be a joy to read even for those not interested in the subject at hand.

I signed up for mine earlier today. As part of a test of a new combined COVID and flu shot, half of those who signed up for it will get that one and the other half will get two separate shots. As I don't have a problem with needles, both are fine for me. I'll know when I get it/them in 9 weeks time.

I think the only reason I kinda liked him in The Color of Money was because I loved the The Hustler with a much younger Paul Newman. Paul Newman did all the heavy lifting in The Color of Money much like Dustin Hoffmann did w/ Rain Man. TC mostly just tagged along for the ride in both of them.

I was curious about so many things that I think that 'overruled' potential fears. The first scare I remember: watching the 1956 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' aged 12.

I know it's an easy thing to say, but isn't it mainly a matter of not stepping on them or cornering them? Snakes tend to prefer to save their venom for a potential meal.
