Had a great conversation with @lateroundqb.bsky.social on his podcast last week about the viability of Zero RB on DraftKings. I knew I loved it in theory but hadn't actually tried it yet at that point. Did a couple drafts simultaneously this weekend where I forced ZRB. Reviewed them on YouTube ⤵️

Feels like just last week I was prepping for the first Flannel Up & Showdown, unsure if I'd just be talking to myself for an hour. But you all showed up consistently every Monday, Thursday, and Sunday. It was so much fun and I am extremely grateful. One final stream today!

I'd love to talk process with other NBA DFS grinders. I'll be doing shows at least 1x/week, and I'm open to doing more if there is interest. I'll start today by looking at pick em props with Unabated tools, then I'll go position-by-position with UA and Rotogrinders projections/tools.

I'm still doing... fine... but it's not as pretty as it used to be. Maybe it never will be again, with how good the average NBA DFS player is these days. But I think I can get closer to the player I once was with some hard work and focus.

100

Neil Orfield @playerqdfs.bsky.social · 31/01/2025

With my NFL DFS success, most of the content I've been asked to do the past few years has been NFL content. It has been time-consuming. I've played a lot less NBA DFS as a result, and I've gotten rusty. I don't know the players as well. I don't know all the rotations.

100

Neil Orfield @playerqdfs.bsky.social · 31/01/2025

The results lagged, but they did come those next few years. Lifetime, I think I still have a few Sklanskys I'd like to redeem for real money. With that said: this chart is still misleading about my results today.

100

Neil Orfield @playerqdfs.bsky.social · 31/01/2025

For all my efforts, though, my lifetimes profits at that point: $2,863.30. ONE THOUSAND ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTEEN DAYS PLAYED. Hours spent researching most days. It was not a strong wage.

100

Neil Orfield @playerqdfs.bsky.social · 31/01/2025

But that was the last season I put less than 1.1% of my lineups into the top 1%. I read the Noto RotoGrinders slate breakdown every day for years. Each game published one at a time. I remember waiting impatiently for the next. 😂 My Sklansky results peaked in those years.

Prior to winning the NFL milly in 2020, anybody who knew me in DFS probably knew me primarily as an NBA guy. I was obsessed with NBA DFS for years, starting in 2013--which is also when I first started learning names of current NBA players. That first season was... not pretty. 🥶

Neil Orfield @playerqdfs.bsky.social · 31/01/2025

Last week I did my first NBA stream in the Flannelverse. I'm excited to expand it today to talk a bit more DFS. These days, I frequently get comments along the lines of, "NFL guy talking NBA DFS?" whenever I am on NBA shows. So want to provide a little context. 😂
