Let it be shown in the history books that Murky, chronic severe scaredy cat, has become so brave as to sit in the window, where people walk by sometimes, as of the last week of February 2026. She has usurped Annapurna as the chronic window user.

Annapurna seemed restless this morning. We haven't played fetch in a while because I didn't know what happened to all her favorite fetching toys. so I swept under the office daybed and got a lot more treasure than expected. She started rolling around right away, so pumped to play fetch.

My Tidal Rewind... Kind of annoying to screenshot and tedious to write alt text for lists but here we are

Tidal rewind calling out music taste. Highlighted genres: theatrical rock, alternative metal, energetic rap. Also on the list: altrock anthems, indie pop hooks, powerful vocals, electro-folk fusion, rebellious rock, experimental pop, raw grunge

Top artists, says top 10 but I only bothered to screenshot what fit on my phone with the title, which is the top 7: Winnetka Bowling League, Mother Mother, Sleep Token, Bambie Thug, Käärijä, Nothing But Thieves, Pearl Jam (noted, I went to a Mother Mother concert in March. Winnetka Bowling League opened for them. I had not heard of WBL beforehand)

Top 8 albums: Sleep Token's Sundering. Air Traffic Controller's Black Box (I think I only listened to one some from this). Pearl Jam's Ten (I definitely only listened to Jeremy a lot). Winnetka Bowling League's Sha La La. Kiltro's Creature of Habit (only listened to one song from this.) Rage Against the Machine's Evil Empire (also just been listening to "Bulls on Parade"). Mother Mother's Inside followed by O My Heart.

Top songs: "Overcome", Nothing but Thieves. "(nendest) narkootikumidest ei tea me (küll) midagi" by 5MINUUST and Puuluup. "Jeremy" by Pearl Jam. "pulp" by Winnetka Bowling League, "If I Lead" by Kiltro. "This Is Love" by Air Traffic Controller. "America In Your 20s" by Winnetka Bowling League. "HONEY (ARE U COMING?" by Måneskin. "CVNT" by Sophie Hunter.

No Rest for the Weary!! I got to the last batch before I figured out a title lol. And this one took a while because I decided to change the ending from the one I posted on Patreon. I definitely think it's better now. Thanks to everyone for your support on this one! I'll make a print copy later on

Page 49. panel 1 has Meryl in the driver's seat of her car again. Vash's shoulder is visible in the back seat. Meryl narrates, "Would they have parted ways if they truly understood each other?" Panel 2: Vash looks out of the back seat window, chin on his hand. Meryl narrates: "Could something have been said to convince the priest to choose Vash?" Panel 3: Meryl drives while behind her, Milly sleeps in the back seat. Meryl narrates: So long as we can't see the future, it seems like regret is inevitable."

Pages 50-51 are a spread. Panel 1 is the largest image and features the car driving through the desert. Meryl narrates: "But for a man whose regrets seem endless, he treasures simple joys more than anyone. He will never let life go to waste. But I hope he can tell me Wolfwood's story one day." In panel 2, Vash calls Meryl's name. In panel 3, Meryl looks back over her shoulder, saying "Hm?" Panel 4, we see the car driving through the sand. From the outside, Vash speaks. "I know where we should go next."

Page 52, Panel 1: Meryl's car drives through the desert, licking up dust. Panel 2: Wolfwood's cross stands against the sky with the tag "the end."

The rescue I volunteer for finally has an Amazon wishlist. Here are some pictures of Pinatubo and Annapurna trying to steal my bike to hopefully inspire generosity. Most rescues would euthanize this pair for their FeLV diagnoses, but I get to foster these sweet goofballs instead.

Almost there, though I might actually cut a few pages from the end.

Page 38-39 spread. On the right, Meryl stands silently. On the left, a memory of Wolfwood has its back to her. Meryl recalls Jill's words: "If it was up to me, the price of his life was too high. But he faced it with all he had, with all the strength we gave each other, with all that I taught him."

Pages 40-41 are another spread, echoing more of Jill's words. On the right, Vash wipes his tears in a callback to the image of Jill on page 33. The recalled dialogue says "I'm so proud of him... But I wish... I wish he had chosen me instead!"

Page 42: Panel 1, Meryl recalls one more line from Jill, saying "It's not fair." Panel 2, Vash and Meryl stand side by side. Meryl says, "Oh Vash..."

Page 43: The top three panels show Vash's hand, and Meryl taking it in hers. In the bottom panel, the sun is coming up over the towering church, casting long shadows across the sand.

I meant to finish this before the summer ended so maybe I can still do that. We'll see

Page 34, panel 1, Meryl and Millie appear behind Vash and Jill. Vash and Millie are crying, and Millie wails "It's not fair at all!" Panel 2, Meryl says "We heard everything from the innkeeper." Panel 3, Jill wipes her tears as Meryl continues: "They said you'd come in here, guns blazing." Panel 4, Millie blows her nose. Meryl continues: "But the gang is gone without a single casualty." Panel 5, Meryl smiles. "It's not easy to do that in this world. You should be proud of yourself. And your husband, too."

Page 35, Panel 1, Meryl elbows Vash and says "I should be grateful that my car is in one piece!" Vash yelps, "Ow! Don't blame me! I was kidnapped!" In the background, Jill says she wants to get some air. Panel 2, Meryl says "You're not off the hook yet! Go with her, Milly!" Milly (fixing my spelling now and not going back) says "Right!" Panel 3, Jill goes down the aisle of the church to leave, Milly in tow, leaving Vash and Meryl in shadow. Vash calls for her. "Meryl." Meryl looks toward him with a "Hm?"

Page 36, panel 1, Vash is turned away from Meryl. He asks, "How much of that did you hear?" Panel 2, Meryl replies, "Most of it. We weren't far behind when you came in here." Panel 3, Vash asks "Do you remember what you asked me before we found Jill?" Panel 4, Meryl pauses. Panel 5, she says, "About Wolfwood."

Page 37 is three panels, two of the back of Vash's head, cut in the middle with a closeup of Meryl's face, appearing surprised. Vash says "How I feel is... exactly the same."

My current fosters came back with positive FeLV tests. 😩 Halifax Cat Rescue Society doesn't have much of an online presence off of Facebook but it was very clear that other rescues would have euthanized these sweeties. Here's to the rescues who give sick cats a chance.

One of my favorite things in fiction—probably manifested thanks to this game and maybe even this character in particular—is when characters change off-screen. I had to stop and take a picture of my TV for this one.

A screenshot of a moment in Suikoden, captured in the remake. Flik says to the protagonist, "Just so we're clear, I don't trust any of you yet. Including you, Viktor."

Oops it's been almost a year. I finished this comic and it's up on Patreon but my tablet was dying so it's been a pain to get it cleaned up and toned.

Page 30. Panel 1 shows the towering church. Jill's narration continues, reading "When the Glass Ghost Gang arrived, I was sick. We were with the doctor in the next town." Panel 2 shows Grett Glass in front of the church doors, lighting a cigarette. Jill says "We heard that Grett took hostages in the church, demanding to see Max Glass." Panel 3 shows Max approaching through the sand. Jill says, "The villagers didn't know who Max was. We could have run."

Page 31. Panel 1, Jill is lying in a bed with Max sitting beside her. She narrates, "He came to my bedside and told me that he wanted to talk to Grett. He wanted to make things right." Panel 2, a close-up of Jill's face shows her sweating and weeping. She says "I begged him not to go." Panel 3, Max has a close-up of his own. He looks peaceful, and smiles. Jill goes on, "But it was something he had to do." Panel 4 stretches the horizontal length of the page, and the brothers Grett and Max stand face-to-face. Jill says "Max couldn't shed the past, so he faced it head-on. He gave himself up and went to his brother to save the villagers." Panel 5 is also horizontal, the text bubble separating the images of Max on the left, resigned with the sun at his back, and Grett on the right, sneering with the dark chasm of the church behind him. Jill says "Everyone he saved told me how brave he was. How he was a hero, but..."

Page 32. Panel 1, Max lies on a bed, covered in blood, and Jill bends over him, clutching his clothes. The narration reads "The next time I saw him, he was dead. And no one could give him back to me." Panel 2, a close-up of Max's face makes him seem peaceful and at rest. Jill narrates, "I had forgiven him, but it wasn't enough. He couldn't forgive himself." Panel 3 shows Jill up close, tears streaming, her eyes swollen. She narrates, "He had to turn the tide to make up for all he'd done. Nothing less would do." Panel 4 shows a burning candle. Jill narrates, "If it was up to me, the price of his life was too high." Panel 5, we see Jill in the present, her hands resting on her pregnant stomach. She says "But he faced it with all he had. With all the strength we gave each other. With all I taught him." Panel 6 has a close-up of Jill's mouth as she reaches a hand up to it. She says "I was so proud of him, but I wish..."
