The holy grail of Atari 8-bits at VCF West. The San Lorenzo Computer Club brought three 1450XLD computers to the show. First time I've ever seen with one, let alone three. I even got the V: device to output some phonemes from its built-in speech chip.

3 prototype Atari 1450XLD computers on a table, each with a monitor attached. The leftmost has cutouts where the floppy drives were mounted, the middle has hacked 1050 drives in place of the original bezel, and the rightmost has drives mounted in the original bezel.

Ever wondered why ~ represents the home directory on unix systems? It’s an artifact of a very particular keyboard. The Lear-Siegler ADM-3A terminal was quite popular in the 1970s, and happens to have a HOME key that is also a tilde. Notice anything else?

Yes! I built a new emulator in C# with the MonoGame/XNA library. I don't think it's too bad for my first C# project. It's very similar to my first emulator but now it has many parts I could not realize originally. Much more is needed but I haven't been able to work on it for about six months.
