Emergence Day has finally arrived and it's time for Jon, Nick and Jesse to sit down and catch up on all of the incredible games this week in the DayOne Show Episode 333!

Early in the week, publisher KONAMI announced a multi-year extension of their partnership with The French Football Federation---continuing a successful partnership since 2022 and allowing KONAMI to maintain its affiliation as the "Official Football Video Game Partner of the French National Team" within its 'eFootball' football simulation title among other uses. In addition to the extensive branding and media rights package, FFF will continue to be embedded within a selection of eSports events alongside other licensed national associations. Next week, developer NEKONOKE WORKS will launch their crossworld fantasy visual novel title 'Sign: Broken Kether' onto PC via Steam. A demo is available for your perusal. Acting as a first chapter to the "Sign" series, in Sign: Broken Kether, players will follow the story of Lyra, a high school girl who encounters Cygnus, a witch from another world. Together, they embark on a journey to reclaim the witch’s lost powers. On an early summer night. Lyra-out for a stroll to clear her mind-happens upon Cygnus, a witch from another world.

On 1 October, developer ALTER-BOY launched their 2.5D action horror title 'OZARK' onto PC via Steam---retailing for 13.49 USD but on a 26% discount til 8 October. OZARK is a dark, story-driven 2.5D indie action horror game made for a short, intense playthrough. Crash-land in remote mountains, enter a derelict facility, survive macabre human experiments, and uncover what lies beneath. Players will be able to play solo, couch co-op, or online co-op through Steam Remote Play Together. After crash landing in a remote mountain range in the far reaches of Northern Canada, you'll find yourself entering into a seemingly derelict facility where your partners signal was lost, and where nothing is quite as what it seems.

Whilst many roll about in themepark rubbish, the almighty Jagex this weekend unveilled a rather important thing: they're working on a new 'RuneScape' MMORPG title, 'RuneScape 4' to make that more obvious. They call it "RS4" as a working title, but lets be real folks. This is a fairly big milestone for the RuneScape project, an MMORPG title now twenty-five years strong. RuneScape 3 was one of the major overhauls the beloved sandbox title saw well-over a decade ago, and it seems that Gielinor is not done changing yet.

Last Friday, STORYTACO and 3Y Corporation launched the "Winter Trip" DLC for their FMV dating simulation title 'Five Hearts Under One Roof Season 2' on PC via Steam. This DLC will also be made available on mobile platforms beginning on the 15th of October. In Winter Trip, the protagonist, who has been running the boarding house, steps away from his everyday routine and sets off on a winter getaway with Bbanggyul, Yu-jeong Yang, and Ssuzi. Unlike many FMV titles that focus on summer settings or resort-style locations, this DLC puts snowy winter at the forefront, offering a warmer and more intimate romance against the backdrop of a snowy travel destination.

PlayStation has announced AI upscaling for its base PlayStation 5 hardware, called QSSR —with Wolverine and Ghost of Yotei the first to get it. A free update has been announced by 4A Games METRO 2033 Redux and METRO Last Light Redux. The update will include performance, visual and platform enhancements, and will be available near the end of October. Metro Redux Next-Gen Update Arrives This Month The update is arriving a few months before the next Metro game, Metro 2039, which is due for release in February 2027. Sony announced the news of the push back via an article in their blog, along with a new story overview. Get all the details below. IO Interactive have launched a new, free DLC for 007 First Light. It's out today, October 1st, and contains a whole heap of new content - including a new difficulty mode, New Game +, new missions and even a photo mode. Alan Ritchson, star of Amazon Prime's Reacher series has officially joined the cast of the upcoming Helldivers movie, which has now been scheduled to release in 2028. The movie will be directed by Justin Lin, famous for directing several films in The Fast and Furious series. Today, developers NANAIRO ENTERPRISE and GIANTY in conjunction with publisher DANGEN ENTERTAINMENT announced a new dungeon-crawling role-playing game title 'LitGirls: Bookbound Dungeons'---heading for PC via Steam (Wishlisting is live!) in the first half of 2027 with console versions TBD. The game will be available in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese, with additional languages to be announced at a later date. An 18+ version of the game is also planned for a PC release on a separate platform and details for that will come at a later date. This week, developer 零创游戏(ZerocreationGame) launched a Japanese voice over update for their dark fantasy visual novel title 'The Weeping Swan: Ten Days of the City's Fall' on PC via Steam. This update brings celebrated voice actors such as Yui Ishikawa (Violet Evergarden, Attack on Titan, NieR:Automata) as Su Lianyan, Sora Amamiya (KonoSuba, Tokyo Ghoul) as Lin Pianpian, and Takuya Tsuda ('Arknights: Endfield') as the protagonist Fang Zhiyou. Set against a backdrop where reality and delusion intertwine, the game follows scholar Fang Zhiyou on a haunting journey of redemption.

This week, developer Super Creative and publisher Smilegate announced that their prologue chapter to Galactic Disaster Season 5 is now available in their free-to-play dark fantasy roguelike role-playing game title 'Chaos Zero Nightmare'. Dubbed "Escape from Judgement" (and available through 21 October), players can experience the prologue story, “Escape from Judgment,” which marks the beginning of the new season. Following imperial summons, the Captain (the protagonist) and their companions embark on a large-scale Chaos investigation, where they become entangled with various allied factions, each with their own distinct characteristics. Tensions rise further with the appearance of a mysterious figure claiming to be an Apostle of the Goddess!

Reuters has reported that the individual was a supposed 'reformed hacker'. Today, publisher NC announced that their global launch of their MMORPG title 'AION 2' is now available on PC via Steam/PURPLE for Founder's Pack owners. There are some fairly big changes on the cards with how promotions and sales are shown to users on Steam. The platform currently uses a manually curated calendar to advertise discounts and events, and this will be replaced next year with a personalised system unique to each player. Today, developer Oxalis Games announced that their cosy life simulation role-playing game title 'Moonfrost' will launch on PC (Windows) via Steam's Early Access programme on 12 October---launching at 6 PM UK time for 14.99 USD/12.99 GBP/14.99 EUR. A demo is available on the platform for your perusal. Blending the warmth of a cosy life-sim with deep building systems. As spotted by Rychillie over on reddit (go upvote the post!), it appears that 'World of Warcraft: Forever' was classified for console usage alongside the likes of personal computers by Brasil's Ministry of Justice. Could it mean anything? Who can say (it's certainly not coming to the PS3!). But World of Warcraft is getting controller support (of which we tested ourselves!) and, as others have pointed out, 'Metroid: Ravenous' did recently leak through this service. Today, Microsoft and Xbox have finally gone and done something with their beloved achievements system: after a gorillion years, we finally have a new "Mythic" achievement level---now available for Xbox Insiders to have a gander at. That means while it will make its way to the public not too far into the distant future, folks enrolled in the company's Insider programme can test the feature out and iron out any weasels embedded within. Mythic Achievements are a simple idea: you earn a Mythic Achievements when you complete all original achievements for a game.

There's just a few more days to wait before Emergence Day comes for us all, and in the spirit of keeping hype levels super high, accessories manufacturer 8Bitdo have announced a Gears of War: E-Day keyboard and mouse. Brain Jar Games have announced their biggest update so far to hit action brawler Dead As Disco.
