I got off a bus and saw this and immediately took the image. It’s #minimal but still interesting. If you can’t tell, it‘s guy in a military jacket smoking a cigarette. I’m pretty sure this is on #TMAX 100. #blueskyartshow #filmisnotdead #classicmono #blackandwhite #photography #analogphotography

I took this because I liked what the #curve of the reflection on the back of the light did but that didn’t translate. I like it though. Taken on CMS20. I intend to print this once I fix my darkroom. #blueskyartshow #filmisnotdead #classicmono #blackandwhite #photography #analogphotography

#evening #blueskyartshow I’d be interested if anyone who sees this knows where it is. One of my favorite places in the world.

#blueskyartshow #photography #glow #filmisnotdead Transit of Venus across the sun. We were in eastern Iowa at the time and it was really cloudy that day. We just got an opening in the clouds to actually see it and we swung the telescope on it to get this shot. It’s a tad out of focus.

#blueskyartshow #photography #home #filmisnotdead This is the woods I grew up playing in. It doesn’t look like this anymore. There was a horseshoe bend upstream that blew through the peninsula and moved the river’s path so that our property isn’t on the river anymore.

A grove of trees next to a river. The sun angle is low and the shadows caught my eye

#blueskyartshow #jagged #filmisnotdead flower petals forming a jagged perimeter around a cup of light. Taken with very slow film and then developed in rodinal to blow the contrast out of proportion.

A flower with an overexposed center making it look like a cup of light. The background is an out of focus, and nearly black.

#blueskyartshow #getoutside #filmisnotded #photography Details in the ALT

Picture of very rural Illinois right after a blizzard. When you live in a harsh place you still have to get outside in the winter. I both love and hate this shot. I hate that the aperture reflections are in it. But it really expresses what it’s like to live in the Midwest. After a storm passes it gets so clear but the winds howl blowing snow at amazing speeds.

A pier at dusk in western Puerto Rico with someone’s fishing pole. I don’t know why the people fishing cleared out of frame, it’s like they knew I was going to take a photo but I made no indication I was. I’ve never printed this and not sure I ever will but this shot has always intrigued me.

#blueskyartshow #narrow #filmisnotdead #photography

A narrow path high up on mount Katahdin in Maine. The path is obscured by fog. The scan is a bit dark; I didn’t fix the exposure. I only scan negatives as a replacement for contact sheets, so exposure and dust problems are prevalent in my scans.

Picture is of corn within a cornfield where there are deep shadows with some leaves fully illuminated. I’ve always loved corn; it’s such a neat plant. I’ve only ever printed this once and I think I lightly sepia toned it. Printing contrasty negatives are fun. I might have to print this again.

#blueskyartshow #texture #filmisnotdead #photography

A very old, abandoned and falling apart house in New Mexico. The wall is made of rocks of different sizes. They create a cool, cell-like texture to the picture, accentuated by the use of a deep red filter and a high contrast developer.
